So I just bought Sakura Wars recently and today I tried to play it but all the ps2 would do is read the disc for a second then stop, I tried a few other games and they worked ( Guilty Gear XX AC and Nocturne). Is there anything I can do? I'd be extremely grateful if anyone can help.

Here's some options: 1. Clean the disc, to see if there's any dirt, fingerprints, grease, etc. 2. If problem still persists, purchase another copy of the game 3. Try some more games on your PS2, to check if the system is working. Not sure what else :P

If it's still having problems after cleaning the discs then you could try cleaning the laser lens.

It's most likely the laser, I'm going to attempt cleaning it.

Sounds like a laser problem. PS2s are notorious for this as they die.

:(

Opened her up and claned her, works practically like new, and Sakura Wars is pretty good so far.

Just take a Q-tip and dip it into some rubbing alcohol, wipe off the excess and gently wipe the lens, then use the dry side of the Q-tip and do the same, just be careful not to press down on the lens.

Even if without the alcohol, using a Q-Tip and just blowing on the laser with your own breath cleans it. I did it that way and mine worked like it was brand new again.
