my ps2 is acting weird

i bought a used ps2 original from gamestop 2 years back and now all of a sudden the color started to act all screwed up the color is bad and isn't showing i am using a component cable right now this happened before with my composite cable but i replaced the composite with component and i thought my problem was solved help

change the settings from RGB to YBrCr mode

If that doesn't work you might want to try a new cable, those go bad pretty easy in my experience.
