Definitely "Blast Corps".
I got it in a cut-out bin shortly after it's release, and on paper it's easy to see why the game didn't catch on like it probably should have. You drive construction equipment, using various heavy machines to demolish a path for an out-of-control missle truck... each vehicle drives differently, and you need to use some strategy as to how you attack each map, There's a sub-plot involving imprisoned scientists, and you eventually leave Earth if you get enough platinum medals and freed scientists, to drive on other planets of our solar system...
One of the most addictive, unsung games the N64 ever saw.
;)
I have yet to see a list of N64 games, that actually have games I never heard of, are actually underrated, or are good but they have not been reviewed. I am tired of asking for games in those fields and always getting the same 30 games over, and over and over, and over. People the N64 has more than 50 games, it has more than 100, has anybody played those games? Maybe people here have so I would like you guys to name some games that YOU LIKED or PLAYED that are either very underrated AND do not have large followings. Even if the games a multiplat that is at least something, give me some games guys.Shockwave-DASH
Wave Race 64 was totally ignored and forgotten, buried under the Mario 64 juggernaut. But, it's my favorite n64 game.
I actually did a detailed review of 2 of my favorite N64 games, which, ironically, very few people I know outside my family (and the only reason they know about them are because I own them), actually heard of these games.
Glover (a strange platformer/puzzle game)
Rush 2 (a great, early street racer. The predecessor of games such as Midnight Club and Need for Speed, it still holds up)
The two Castlevania games on N64. Castlevania 64 and Castlevania Dark Legacy. These are not part of the regular Castlevania timeline and are not cannon. They don't have high praise nor a cult following. Konami created them as a spin off.
Nightmare creatures on N64 is another example. The sequel Nightmare creatures 2 wasn't released on N64.
Battletanx Global Assault is another game without a cult following or high praise.
Given that the Nintendo 64 library is only some 425 titles there are so games that may have been forgotton, without high praise or even a cult following.
Need for speed came out first.I actually did a detailed review of 2 of my favorite N64 games, which, ironically, very few people I know outside my family (and the only reason they know about them are because I own them), actually heard of these games.

quest 64 was just bad but hey cant blame nintendo for trying to put some rpgs in there
Jessey-Stone
I remember having such high hopes for this game...man, it really was disappointing.
Quest 64
A really bare-bones, super simple, not necessarily deep RPG for the 64, and for some reason it still is a pretty fun game.
Samslayer
Don't believe this man, the game ranks on many worst games lists for a reason.
Rocket: Robot on Wheels.
It was Sucker Punch's first game and is arguably still the greatest game they've ever made. Despite this I've virtually never seen the game mentioned online or in print (just once in the later that I can recall).
EDIT: Also Cruis'n USA. It was an enjoyable arcade racer and remained enjoyable on the N64, even if it was downgraded in ways.
I LOVE THAT GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D Mission Impossible for N64, pretty dang good game and that's all I will say, so if you see it cheap just pick it up and play it for a good hour, I think you will like it :)Definitely "Blast Corps".

It was great fun in trying to figure out what/how to do next, or where to go, there were no constant arrows pointing where to go next like in todays games. Definitely a great game. Other games? Hmm not sure. Bomberman 64 was good, i enjoyed it. Mischief Makers is also a good one imo, a good 2d sidescroller.Definitely "Blast Corps".

For some reason, it seems like I'm the only one who love Ogre Battle 64.Bonkers1978No, no you're not. Loved that game, though I still need to play the SNES one.
I'm guessing Ogre Battle 64 is one of the games people put on lists? Truly one of the best games ever imo. I like the reference to Glover and any of the Rush racing games too. If you're looking for a game that most people have never heard of, let alone played, get a copy of CUSTOM ROBO. You'll have to import it and saw off the plastic region lockout nubs (I did when I was a kid and it played fine). It's in Japanese too, but it doesn't really matter because the story mode is so simple you don't need to read much. A fantastic game for a party, it always was more of a draw than any other 64 game, including Goldeneye or Smash Bros. The game released for the GameCube years later is nowhere near as good as the N64 original. It's laughably bad in comparison.

That's a crime against humanity. The 64 Ogre Battle is a truly amazing game, but I still like the SNES Ogre Battle better. With being able to emulate it on just about everything nowdays you don't even need to pay 100 bucks for an original copy to play it either.

I've got it on Virtual Console; just haven't started. :(For some reason, it seems like I'm the only one who love Ogre Battle 64.Bonkers1978It's in my top 10 games of all time.
James Bond: The World is not Enough. Everyone talks about Goldeneye and I never see this one mentioned. I think it's just as good!
Which was extremely popular and had the better versions on the PSx yet 2 and 3 both did well on N64. But it's not mentioned much CURRENTLY which may be why you were confused and thought the game was underrated.Gex 64: Enter the Gecko
I never see it mentioned at all. I loved this game. Imo, it's a great 3D platformer, that has some very interesting level designs.
GamerEye
And it still had high praise and did well commercially comparedto another game.James Bond: The World is not Enough. Everyone talks about Goldeneye and I never see this one mentioned. I think it's just as good!

I've always been fond of Rampage 2: Universal Tour's simple, to-the-point arcade gameplay, yet I know noone outside of my friend circle who ever even talks about this game. It has a bit more variation than the first Rampage (although it's still straightforward as hell), and it's actually still quite playable to this day.
And I don't know if this game is actually that 'underground', but back in the day, people over here used to go crazy over Shadowman. I always thought it was a highly popular game, until I discovered that most foreign review sites (I'm from Holland) actually didn't rate it too highly. I've never seen it mentioned on American forums, either. Shadowman is a pretty creative adventure/horror game where you switch between the life and the dead sides of the game world. I doubt it holds up well these days, though. It was already a bit clunky then, so imagine what 13 years of progress must've done to it.
Iggy's Reckin' Balls is definitely an underrated game that, apart from the incidental fan, seems to have been ignored by pretty much everyone. It's a racer/puzzle game that was pretty amazing for its time, with some truly excellent and challenging level design. The battle mode is really, really fun as well. It has aged obviously, though not as badly as most 3D games from the N64/PS1 era.
I seem to be the only one who enjoyed this quirky platformer called Glover. It was a puzzle/platforming bland that had you assume the role of... a glove, and guide a ball through numerous levels. It provided a very interesting take on platforming in an era when the collectathon platformer was the golden standard. It also had a fantastic soundtrack. A few people on these forums seem to have heard of it, but most of them consider it 'boring'.
Doom 64 was hated by pretty much everyone, but I think it was a rather cool reimagining of the original Doom games. It was basically what you would have imagined a Doom sequel to be like in 1997, with upgraded graphics, some great level design and a weird, ambient soundtrack. It also happened to be the first Doom game that was remotely scary (well, to a kid, anyway).
I hope these titles aren't the same ones you hear always, but some of these are definitely worth checking out still, especially Glover and Iggy's Reckin' Balls. You also have to understand that it's hard for me to estimate their popularity/success at the time of release, because I can only really speak for my own country, in which none of these games (bar Shadowman) really took off.
Gex 64
And 007 World is not Enough
Which everyone mentions all the time anyways.
This is what I absolutely hate about the gaming community. No one, not a single person I've ever talked to has played Winback.
Winback is easily one of the best N64 games, and in my opinion the best cover shooter ever made, that has yet to be beaten. Gears of war cannot touch Winback.
One of the first games besides resident evil to implement saving ammo as part of the gameplay.
Excellent boss battles, on par with the MGS series.
I could go on and on. So many great things about this game, and unlike so many other N64 games out there, fanstastic pacing, and perfectly polished.
