Banjo? J/K. Saturn actually has more than 10 overrated good games so I pick the Saturn. I am tired of that same N64 list every single time. At least Saturn has games. I do not give more credit to a system more based on growing up wth it like a lot of people on GS otherwise I would think the Telestar is better than the 2600. (Ugh.) Both are good devices though. N64 just lacks quantity.

this thread again ? :P

I go with Saturn , just more of the type of games i like.

and besides, how can one say which console is better if they never played one of them? for all you know, the Saturn might end up being your favourite, or it might end up being a steaming pile :P

We already had a very large and very opinionated thread about this, I think 45 pages worth and being only a month old is quite sufficient enough for this subject:

I'll go with the N64 based on the fact that I like the games on it way more. However, I still love the saturn.

In my opinion the N64 and Saturn didn't really compete with each other. The games on both systems are very different and the Saturn was dead by the time N64 and PS1 were still competitive. The only multiplat game I can think of that was released on N64 and Saturn but not the PS1 is Quake. And that was a feat for the Saturn and a mediocre game on the N64.

N64. IMO the only thing it was missing was RPG's.

Only thing missing? What about fighting games, shoot-em ups, and 2D games?

Sega Saturn for me.

A HUGE minus for me on N64 is the controller. That thing is a monstrosity. I'm ordering the Gamecube-to-N64 controller adapter just for this reason. The thumbstick is a big issue on it too, since they wear out pretty easily compared to other controllers. Ugh, can't stand the thing. But I do tough through it for the good N64 exclusives. On the other hand, Saturn's controller is VERY comfortable, very reliable, and very intuitive to use.

But more importantly, Saturn's game library is better, IMO. More arcade hits, more 2D gems that the other systems of that era paid little attention to, some great Sega games because there's nothing like Sega's innovation.

However if it came down to a fair battle between all the system of this generation, I'd pick the original Playstation over both N64 and Saturn.

SATURN, and its not even a question.

The Saturn had/has a great selection of my favorite genres; rpgs, shmups, 2D actioners, all of which were almsot completely ignored on the N64.

Also, the Saturn has a paddle i can tollerate, the N64 does not.

Whoa! This brings me back. I remember arguing on Banjo's thread for the N64 :) Remember me?

Anyway, N64 for me since the games are more likely to bring a smile to your face more often than the Saturn.

My bad I was only thinking about genres that I play. Although I liked some of the fighting games on N64.

This discussion is getting tiresome, but I'll play along anyways. Saturn, simply because it has more variety in its library, and it has far more games that appealed to me. I also don't have to worry about playing my Saturn games with a horrible controller. Can't say the same for the N64.
