3DO. I've always loved that generation of gaming and never did get to play one. The games on it seemed more mature, and smart to me when it was out. And I've always wanted to play one as a result. The controller looks very comfortable, and the console itself looks like a piece of high-tech 90s hardware, like a stereo component or something.
Most of the great 3DO games were not the ones they were showing on TV. Very few gamesother than EA and 3DO Company games got advertised or got any help form 3DO whatsoever. With nearly 300 games i think it's worth a look. Then again, i just realized what CDN was so yeah, you got stiffed on the 3Do, forget what I said. For those people pining for the 3DO, you didn't miss much. I bought one the first year for $700 CDN and ended up playing maybe 3 or 4 games that were even tolerable. Biggest disappointment ever.

TurboDuo. The time between having an NES and an SNES - the Turbografx-16 seemed like a 'next-gen' and with the CD-Rom built-in, the TurboDuo looked that much more advanced.
Edit: Another was the 3DO, mainly because of Road Rash and Need for Speed, but luckily I got to experience those on PlayStation.
I've played most retro systems that I care to even try, however I've never played a Virtual Boy and wanted to see if it's as uncomfortable and difficult to play as people say it is.

I played it at Toys R Us quite a few times when I was younger. And I always left with a slight headache, and a red after-image in my eyes. And seeing in just black and red is very disconcerting, it's hard to explain until you play it. Quite annoying.

It sounds like being on acid without actually doing anything illegal :p
Somehow I managed to plot a course that led to me supporting (being stuck with) many of the "road less traveled" consoles but even still the Neo Geo and CD-i have always eluded me. I really wanted to log some time on the Neo Geo back in the early 90's fighting game era!
NeoGeo for sure. Everyone wanted one of those back in the day but nobody could afford them. They are still really pricy. They are not completely unreasonable but to be honest, I don't think I'd get much milage out of it these days.
I have always wanted to try the NES, I never really got toit, and I played quite a few games with friends and such at clubs and other places. Me and the guys would always play the 2600, so until late late when the Mater System and 7800 were out, I took my chances on the 7800 and later the Master System, as the NES console prices were rip-offs were I was. Games where cheaper, but the console was too much. Out of my price range. I figured maybe this week or next I will stat looking for a functional one on Ebay. Might try to see if I can get the top loading version first. Another system I always wanted to try was the 32X. I had a Sega CD with quite a few games, but never brought the 32X as I kept hearing rumors that it was not serious and a prototype for the Saturn, which I got instead. But later I learned it has a nice little library and I wanted to try it ever since. There is one store in my area that actually sells it offline, but for $400 so screw that. What consoles have you always wanted to try?Mr-bomb
For me I'd really like to play the Sega Nomad, Sega CDX, Neo Geo, Atari 7800, and that's all I can think of. I think i've played all the other legacy consoles at one time or another. I would love to collect more legacy consoles like the TG16, 3do, Dreamcast, Snes, and atari 2600, but I am really trying to control my addiction to buying games. I dont have the time, money, or space for another 100+ games and consoles. LOL
but seriously, You really should GET an NES. They are a timeless console that ALL gamers should have. Totally worth the $40 - 50 you might have to spend to get one. The original controller is tiny and only has 2 buttons, but you'll love it. As for the 32x, meh, it has a small library of exclusives (Knuckles' Chaotix, Kolibri, Shadow Squadron) and a few games that are great ports (NBA jam TE, Virtua Fighter, Virtua Racing). If you have a genesis and can find a 32x and a few games for a decent deal, go for it. But its not worth more than $50 IMO. The games are worth about the same as average genesis games too.
As a kid the Neo Geo always fasinated me. This weird console you saw in the gaming mags but never in the shops. You just wanna play a game where the cartiridge is big enough to be classed as an illegal weapon.
Good to see a lot of classic Neo Geo games on PSN but I'm still waiting for King of the Monsters.
I've played every Nintendo console (even the Virtual Boy, which admittedly had some good games on it) so none. :P
Really I've played pretty much every console at one point or another aside from most pre-NES stuff, and to be honest I don't have a lot of interest playing those. If anything, I'd like to play some more SNES games, but even then I think I'd just prefer they be released on the eShop or remade.
Sega Saturn. I don't even remember that system. Wish I could go back and play it. Not sure how I missed it.
The only old consoles from back in the 1990s that I have always wanted to play were the Sega CD, and Saturn but they were just too hard to find in stores anyway.
Nighttrap the game also was picked on alot and that game was hard to find in stores too.
But consoles like the 3DO and Sega 32X they turned me off anyway due to the cheesy live action stuff such as CHarles Barkley basketball and Chris Chross music game
