Name a legacy game you would play over any current gen game for a week

Well is there a legacy game that could hold you attention for a whole week without playing current gen games ? Thee is for me and it's ICO, Team Ico's first title and still the most unique gaming experience for me, I could easily play it for a week without touching a current gen title. Of course some gamers will have more than one.

If I had to narrow to down between like 5. Chrono Trigger, FF3, Super Mario RPG, Super Metroid, Link to the past. Although I would take my retro games over any current gen games.

Super Mario 64 or the 2nd gen pokemon games. I could play both forever.

That is a hard one.....only because there are so many great games from the past :P

On a more serious note, I will pick 5 of my favorite:

1 Legend of Zelda series (love all of the games more than current gen)

2 Super Smash bros. Melee (GC)

3 Soul Calibur 2 (GC)

4 Donkey Kong (Super Nes)

5 Super Mario Sunshine (GC)

Valkyrie Profile, just to name one.

I got a few weeks at a time without playing current gen. games all the time though. I just don't have as much interest in current gen. games.

I do this all the time in fact. Usually with FF, Zelda, Chrono Trigger etc.

Resident Evil 1,2,3, and CV

All of them, but let's say I'd choose, then probably Super Smash Bros Melee.

Super Mario RPG Legend of the seven stars.

Hands down it goes to super smash bros for the N64

Pokemon Gold version can suck me in for quite a while, causing me to play nothing but that one game. I was also the same way playing through Deus Ex a few weeks ago (I hadn't played it before then, but I found it lying around in my dad's old collection) because I was trying so hard to get to the end.

I think there are more good games for PS2 and GCN then PS3 and Wii.

But most recently, I played through Tales of the Abyss, without touching any other game for more then a few minutes. I may have played a bit Soul calibur 4 multiplayer or smash bros but that's it.

Haha, funny that you ask seeing as I have been playing Crash Team Racing (PSX/1998) near exclusively for about a week. I'd say any racing game should do fine. Diddy Kong Racing comes to mind, or the original Burnout if that one still counts.

mario 64, mario 1, 2, 3, super mario world, mortal kombat trilogy, every final fantasy except 11 and 12, Powerstone 1 and 2, call of duty 1 and 2 on pc, unreal 2004, battefield 1942, smash melee, chrono trigger, illusions of gaia, super street fighter 2 turbo, skies of arcadia, Halo original, Dark forces 1 and 2, original doom, return to castle wolfenstein, wing commander series, Contra (with codes, sorry don't have the patience), etc

That's the story of my life, I play legacy games way more often than current gen games. I'd happily go the rest of my life playing Contra, Donkey Kong, Sonic, or Super Mario.

Between Halo 2 and Conker L&R.

COD 2, Pokemon R,B&Y, Super Mario Land,

Any of the Pokemon games on the Gameboy and the first Crash Bandicoot on the Playstation.

Final Fantasy IX, not matter how many times I play it'll always be my favourite game.

FFIX. In fact, every now and then I do go back and play another FFIX file (and usually for more than a week)

Any resident evil, dino crisis or silent hill game. Perhaps Freedom Fighters. GTA:SA was epic. This gen really sucks in comparison to last gen.

I have actually played these over current gen games: Pokemon Red (gb), Super Mario World (SNES), Super Mario RPG (SNES), Chrono Trigger (SNES).

M.U.L.E.- For the C=64. Pinball Construction Set was awesome for Commodore, as well.

From the PS2- Timesplitters 2, just to play Astrolander on the H.U.D. device, in-game.

Either Pokemon Blue or Gold or Fire Emblem 7 or 8

Right now I'd be itching to play Shadow of the Colossus or Chrono Trigger again.
