Me: Outlast!!!
Me: Outlast!!!
you didn't say why. you failed at your own thread
I think he answered in reverse.
"Outlast. Me"
His reason was "Me". Obviously they are their own worst enemy when it comes to gaming.
Zelda phantom hourglass. The controls just kill me! Which is too bad cuz i was so excited for a sequel to my favorite zelda game wind waker. If it had standard controls i would have loved it.
There are a lot of games I wouldn't play in its current state. But I would never say that I never play a game again. Maybe it releases again with all its issues fixed?
Uncharted 4. Went to the game with some expectations but sold the game as soon as I was finished with it.
Heavy Rain, never been able to get back into it. It hit me hard when I played it.
The Walking Dead Telltales, Tales From Borderlands Telltales ... cool story that fit perfectly well in the universe they are derived from but it is like a one time kind of deal.
So far I don't know if I'll ever replay Zero Time Dilemma, I just got the platinum and the game was amazing.
Most of them. I rarely replay games unless its my favorites(Fable, Okami, Budokai series, Pokemon, etc).
Outlast is great, but it's probabily not the type of game for repeated playthroughs
Outlast had some VERY disturbing moments and the DLC took it too another level. I liked the game but there are certain chapters that I wouldn't want to revisit.
@vaidream45: I'll second this game. I actually didn't mind the controls, but the game itself was too repetitive for me. Didn't have the same sense of adventure I got from Wind Waker. I'd still like to give Spirit Tracks a shot sometime though.
I mean, most games I've played I probably won't play again. I generally get all I want out of a game when I'm playing it. If I do end up doing multiple playthroughs I may set it aside between playthroughs. Then there's the rare oversized open world game that I may pick up and play again over the span of several months or even years. Games I wouldn't want to play again might be a better question.
There are lotta games that i will never replay. But if i had to pick one...
Medal of Honor xbox 360 - I will never replay that game to beat it again. Graphics and control are not the greatest.
Omg some old game on Nintendo called Zoo Tycoon. I played it cos I was getting bored one day...and I died.

not played the DLC yet, the outlast horror bug had left me by the time it was released.
Plenty of games to be honest. I like games with depth and replay value, and will return to many of them unless they get sequels that build on the predecessor in every-way. But to name some games I won't go back to because I tried and failed to enjoy.
The Witcher III- The Input delay and mediocre combat really threw me out of this game a whole lot. I got up to Level 24 before I gave up on this game, when I have to press the action button eight times for Roach to take notice that really leaves me pausing why I try with TW3. . . *Sigh*
Shovel Knight- Which is a shame because I actually love the boss battles, but the stages for the later half throw all the creativity out the window for cheap off screen traps. Focusing more on muscle memory than reflexes and awareness, which in my opinion is bad game design. Games like Sonic the Hedgehog 2 got away with that garbage because it had a coop mode, but for me that's not a good thing to have in a 2D Platformer. Super Meat Boy handles challenge far better than Shovels later levels.
Little Big Planet 3- Nothing should be worth mentioning with this piece of garbage. You should never consider this game, wasn't made by Media Molecule but by Sumo Digital. A developer well known for destroying known franchises. Better you just dust off the first two games or get LBPVita.
Thief (reboot)- Shouldn't have to say why, it's a well known disaster. The entire budget was put into the art direction (probably). So the game is at least good looking with a nice soundtrack, however as we know from Crytek. A pretty game doesn't equal a good game.
Monster Hunter X- Because they went for people that don't play Monster Hunter, and streamlined the game in the worst way. Removing G-Rank and having far less loot was serious buisness on my side. The Super attacks also add no depth. And is the reason you can still find more people playing 4G. XX came out recently but I don't know if I should bother. I've been told on GFAQ it's a "huge step-up" but I'm not willing with so many current games I'm enjoying.
Dragons Dogma Online- A seriously flawed successor to Dark Arisen. Combat and customisation is still pretty good, and even enjoyed the plot changes. However the level design is straight up terrible. And overall the glitches you come across really break the game. I've clipped through more buildings and mountains than I care to name. And it usually results in the game freezing up. We just need a real Dragons Dogma 2 at this point_
@Cheddarchet:
I haven't played Spirit Tracks for the same control issues. I am just terrible at touch controls. Shame to hear about phantom hourglass but i guess I'm not too sad i missed out then. I'll still with the Wind Waker. ; )
dont think ill play......
Bioshock Infinite, because i simply dont see much replay value.
The Last of Us, too emotional to go through that again.
Uncharted 3, Its the weakest of the series imo, id play any of the other first before this one again.
Dishonored, I tried playing it again once, didnt get through the first level before i decided, nope.
Red Dead Redemption, I dont really want to spoil the experience of the first time i played it, incase i dont like as much a 2nd time through
Demon's Souls, that game rekt me.
It's actually most games these days since I have such a huge backlog now that I quickly move on to the next and leave the previous one behind.
Having been an avid gamer for 40 years now there are probably 1,000+ games that I'll never play again, not because I don't want to necessarily but because I don't have the time and would rather move on to a newer game after I finish one.

I think the question is more aiming at games that are not worth the thought of going back to. As you never know when you'll want to dive back into a game that is seen as timeless though your perspective. As for personal reasons, some games can come across as worth the retread.
But perhaps I'm a rarer case here than I thought (reading some comments above). A lot of gamers now seem more focused on the zeitgeist, only caring for what's in recent trend, to be part of relevant conversation. And not to play games for the sheer joy and experience.
It goes without saying that some classics hold up exceedingly well, and simply haven't been bettered or even a focus for recent developers.
One game I was very happy to replay in 2016 was Demento (Haunting Ground). Granted it was the re-released edition on PS3 but what a game that is! I forgot how well-made the game was, and how I didn't give it enough credit when it was released.
It's just worth noting that a new game doesn't equal a better game. If you have some games that hold a good place in your heart. Perhaps one time go back and relive the glory that was the masterpiece you remember_
@RSM-HQ: Yeah I get that however there comes a point when one has been an active gamer for such a long period of time where you've played so many games that you simply don't have the time to really replay so many of those games again no matter how good they were.
Personally I don't keep up with newer games just for the sake of it and to keep up with the current conversation so to speak, I do it because I love the hobby and find a great deal of the new games to be really fun and interesting experiences.
@Archangel3371: I see it more as looking at a handful of game worth the retread, at a given year/ or two.
I'll probably always replay a game like the original Makai Senki Disgaea. Even though later games really buffed and polished the in-game mechanics. Why? Because the art-style and story was really different in the original game, and the theme and pacing of the game is something 'I' find next to perfect. But others must feel this with Disgaea, because the first game now has a whopping five ports across various platforms! And I'm the same for classics like Ninja Gaiden Black/ Sigma, and Devil May Cry 3_
As with games like Demento, it's me remembering it with fondness, but wondered why I didn't give the game more credit; (came out at a similar time to Resident Evil 4). And yet after replaying it, gave me satisfaction drastically different from games I bought in 2016. As what Demento does, hasn't been replicated since. And many timeless classics have this quality for being worth the replay.
I'm the sort of person who only buys about four to five new games a year at most anyway (sometimes two). So if time is a factor because backlogs are demanding for you? I understand your point of view.
Yet. At times it's in the interest of a gamer to look back at the retro games, either loved; or vaguely remembered just for the thrill. And to remember why you enjoy this hobby. Not saying new games can't give us that excitement of enjoyment. But games are more following a template now than they did in the past and many of the classics tried ideas without thinking of pandering to a larger audience.
@RSM-HQ: Well to be fair I do replay a number of games in the form of ports and remastered games. I've replayed the Resident Evil games a number of times due to all the various versions. I also do sometimes replay some games in their original format. My main point really was that I could list hundreds if not 1,000+ games that I would likely never replay, not saying that there isn't any that I wouldn't or don't replay.
Anything in the Street Fighter 4 series of games. I did not enjoy this game at all, I played it because it was what everyone was playing and had no choice. Now that Street Fighter 5 is here, and it is awesome, I will never touch 4 again. I still like to go back through the series and play the classics like ALpha 3, turbo, and Capcom vs. snk 2, but I cannot imagine any reason to ever play 4 again.
Silent Hill 1 & 2.
Why? because the gameplay is too boring.the whole indoor areas are played with a same pattern.(Kill enemies-Search in darkness for items-Move to new area-Repeat) and the Movements are somehow Clunky.(Classic RE games had more responsive Movements). another Problem is that the Different Enemies don't really change your Playstyle.(at least SH 1 had more enemy types but in 2 you fight 2 type of enemies in 80 percent of it)
The bossfights of the second Game were also bad .
