Naruto: Rise of the Ninja actually looks pretty good...

I am into anime, and I have watched all of the Naruto episodes, but I try to stay away from anime-based games. But, its been getting really good previews from those who have seen it. Here are some pics:

The cel-shaded graphics are great, and apparently the game is free roaming. The city of Konoha is huge, and it could become a really cool game world. Apparently online features are planned, and it will have a full-fledged fighting system. Its odd, but for those who watch the anime, Naruto could be made into this kind of game really easily. Watch the interviews, I was impressed. And apparently, so was Gamespot.

Yeah, they did that for TMNT too, and that was a huge miss...

You don't get it. They made TMNT too. They CAN make great games, but with a license like this, they have no motivation to do so.

This is the first Naruto game to be made outside of Japan, to my knowledge. Hopefully, we canget a new take on Naruto games. I like the fighting enginein theGamecube Narutogames. The PS2 Naruto games have great presentation, but I couldn't really get into the fighting system.Korn_Wallace

But why did you play them? None of them were really anything special. You only played them because Naruto was in the title. The fact that that is all that has to happen for this game to sell makes it so it will almost surely suck.

Yeah, the fact that Naruto is in the title has something to do with it. But, I actually played the Japanese Naruto 3 andNaruto4 for the GC. I haven't played any of the US versions. The Gamecube Japanese games are actually pretty good. At least I thought so. Yeah, there can be some button mashing, but some really sweet combos can be pulled off in those game. And, the three man combo special moves are pretty cool too.

It does look good, and I'll wait for a few reviews before deciding on whether or not to pick it up.

I watch the anime series, the *** version, not the US import one, but that doesn't mean i'll buy it regardless of how crap it is.

Ubi Montreal look to have put a lot of effort into the game, and from what i've seen, it does look like a good game regardless of what it's based on, but I think we'll have to wait and see.

Looks like Ubisoft is doing the right thing in trying to reach out to the Japanese market.

Also, this Naruto game looks like it's packed with more ninja quality then those terrible plastic shurikens Japanese developers are throwing with their anime-based games.

Anime-based games in Japan is equivalent to the crappy licensed games based on movies here in North America, although there are some pretty good anime-games in Japan which sadly never come here.
