Ok, well I had this game when I was younger, had it a few years back when I rebought a Genesis, and I got it recently with my newest Genesis purchase. Still awesome to play, but during one of the intermissions a tip popped up telling me to use the turbo button. Well I have a 6 button controller with no turbo button, and the 3 button controllers don't have them, but I'm pretty certain I saw a turbo button controller at a local store earlier today. Does the turbo button allow for special moves or anything in particular? And does it have any special functions in other games?

uh... the turbo button is the button that changes the color of your shoes and makes you run fast and do special dunks, not an actual turbo button lol

Off the top of my head, I think it's the B button.

I donno. I guess there's a certain time you use it. I wouldn't know though because my brother beat me constantly at this game while growing up :P I always just shot from downtown, and such, and never took it too seriously.

Probably my most enjoyed Basketball game out of all of them, looking into grabbing the sequel NBA Hang Time for the Nintendo 64 down the tracks haven't played that one in ages.

I do have NBA Jam, but I actually can't find it at the moment. It is lying in a closet in my house somewhere.

IIRC, the turbo button was used by holding it down to make you run faster and pull off cool dunks. It's not something you push at the right time, you just hold it down when you want to be bad ass.

Nah, I figured it out today.

You push it to make you run fast. Pushing it while passing makes it less likely to be intercepted, pushing B & C on defense will make you push the opposing player, and yah I think it does help you do cool dunks.

It really helped vary the gameplay a lot. When I started using it I got a lot of interceptions, and rejections, and such. I can only imagine playing with a friend. Much more competitive this way.

Okay, I have NO idea why, but I have tons for copies of NBA Jam. I originally had it as a kid on SNES when it came out. Right now I have

SNES x 3 (I dunno why 3 copies)

Genesis x2

32x

Sega CD

Saturn

Gameboy

Some of them are like Tournament Edition. One is like "Extreme" edition or something. NBA Jam is awesome, but it had to be most awesome in the arcade.

yessir, i loved playing it in the arcade. I have NBA Jam and NBA Jam TE. I bought NBA Jam on it's release date and it cost me close to $70, which is one of the reasons I don't understand why people complain about the prices of games today. It's the version with Charles Barkley on the Suns instead of Dan Marlje (sp?) ;)
