Need For Speed Shift/ Xbox 360, PC, PlayStation 3
9/10
Need For Speed Shift is a big turn from you ****c arcade racing game. Instead, EA has decided to bridge the gap between arcade and simulation, Mission Accomplished. I had a lotof fun with the game, epically the cockpit view. It feels as if the entire game was built from the ground up with the cockpit in mind. The cockpit is by far the most comfortable and easiest way to drive. If you prefer to drive from the chase cam keep looking. The chase cam gives you a tremendous amount of over steer and will probably end with a spin out. The visuals are above average and the frame rate stays solid the entire time, no matter the amount of chaos on screen. The audio front is astounding with the roar of the engine filling your ears. I often found myself looking under my chair for an engine but no such luck. The biggest downside is the amount of customization and cars available. Customization can become frustrating with the amount of time it takes to switch to a different side of the car. If you want to create your own graphic, you'll half to use several squares or circles. Your only get a total of about 65 cars to choose from but at least it's not filled up with a bunch of mini vans or Sudan's.
You can expect the Forza 3 Demo Review Shortly
