That's right, some guy paid $41.300 for a sealed copy of Stadium Events, a NES game I honestly never heard of, topping the previous record holder, Campus Challenge 1991 (sold for a 'meager' $20.100). I'm baffled.

Yeah, if I were the buyer I'd ask for a $40.270 refund :lol:I like how it still has the price tag for $29.99.

Honestly..... the plastic looks redone on that box. Original Nintendo carts back then were sealed with suction, not heat. You can clearly see how the wrap is tighter in the center and loose around the edges. Clearly indicative of shrink wrapping via a heat gun.

Nah, it's legit. On the ebay auction, there's tons of pictures of the plastic. It has the original "H-seam" running across it that all NES games had. There are people who seriously have spotting original shrinkwrap down to an art lol, and they say its original.
Extremely rare cart, one of gamings holy grails, believe it or not (the fact that this sold for over 40 grand ups the value of the Nintendo World Championships gold cart)- Nintendo bought the rights to the game and released it as World Class Track Meet.
Good quote. One could compare it to E.T., except without the rarity, just the sucking.Rarity doesn't stop it from sucking.

Yeah, that's insane for just a game. Even if it is rare, that's still insane! I've seen worse. Just days ago, a copy of Action Comics #1 (1st Superman Comic) sold for over $1,000,000! But at least that was from 1938 (pre-dates even WWII by a year), NES games aren't even close to that old. And it's a sports game at that! I don't know, I just don't understand. Maybe if it was a working PDP-1 Computer with the original SpaceWar! program. That has got to be the holy grail of video game collecting. -Nate-Emerald_WarriorBear in mind that Superman is a cultural icon, the first superhero, and the reason for the comic book industry. Stadium events is just a bad game that people with too much cash in hand want.
