Picking up where my first question left off. The winner was Super Mario Bros. 3, so...

You were playing Super Mario Bros. 3 in nothingness, when all of a sudden, two glowing doors appear before you.

One is silver and has this inscribed on it:
Silver Door

The other door is golden and has this inscribed on it:

Golden Door

Once you went through one of the doors, you could never go back and enter the other. Which one would you choose?

NES version. I don't like the look of the All-Stars version.

NES version for sure. The other ones are fun and portable, but the NES version tops them.

SNES, it lets you save and fixed a few things. It also features a super fun battle mode for two players.

NES. Why? Because Mario turned completely orange when he got fire power, lol.

I'm loving the post :P

The NES version. I adore the SNES version, but the NES version has a charm that can never be matched. It's the original, classic, first version, and in my book, you just can't beat that.

I like the game play in the original nes better then the two remakes but I do enjoy the save feature that was added to the later editions. For convence I tend to play the snes version more frequently as I do not have the time to sit through and complete all 8 worlds in one sitting. Through in save states however (like on my DS or PSP) then its the nes version all the way.

Super Mario Bros 3 on the NES was a better looking game than the snes one. I liked All Stars, but it just didn't feel like the same game.

NES.

The SNES tried to beef up the graphics, it just annoyed me. NES version is that beautiful pure form. And I'm fortunate enough to own the original cartridge.

I thought Mario looked a bit too tanned in the SNES/GBA versions.

SNES version. It plays exactly the same, has better colors, and lets you save.

I would have to say the NES version because of this as well. Although I have no problems with the SNES version whats-so-ever besides that. I'd still give the edge to the NES version though.

That's all it takes for me. SMB3! And Fred Savage played the NES version in The Wizard, if you want to be cool like Fred you have to play the NES version. -Nate-

I've enjoyed playing through all three versions of the game. The NES version is the original, so that increases its nostalgic value. The SNES version updated the graphics, as well as introduced a user-friendly save feature. Finally, the GBA version is portable, allowing gameplay outside the home.

I can understand why others bash the remakes due to the updated graphics, minor tweaks in difficulty, and, in the GBA's case, the smaller screen size, but those have never bothered me.

Owning both, I prefer the All-Stars version. The SMB3 on AS is the one I've actully beaten.

That said, I still prefer SMB to SMB 3 on NES.
