New Game Informer review scores

Just got the new Game Informer with the Batman Arkham City cover on it. It came early this month.

Anyway, here are the review scores. A few surprises:

Do they have any good info on Arkham City? The cover looked rad. I'm happy to see that Catwoman is in it in some capacity.

Thanks for the info. Can't wait to read the review of Valkyria Chronicles 2 and the preview of the upcoming Batman game.

8.5 for castlevania? What a disgrace. It deserves a lot less than that. After playing symphony of the night I expected more.

What you personally expected is irrelevant because Konami made it quite clear that Castlevania was not a traditional entry in the series but rather a unique title focused on team play, online functionality and loot grinding.

I can understand your disappointment if you expected a successor to Symphony of the Night but the fact of the matter is that such a game was never promised.

Here are some Batman Arkham City gameplay details from the latest issue of Game Informer:

Plot info:

* Quincy Sharp is no longer running for mayor.
* Arkham Asylum and Black Gate Prison are unfit to hold inmates.
* Quincy Sharp buys off part of the slums and walls it off, creating Arkham City.
* Hugo Strange is now in charge of Arkham City.
* Two-Face plans to execute Catwoman to gain respect of inmates.
* The overdose of venom may not be what's wrong with the Joker.

Gameplay info:

* You are now able to counter two attacks at once.
* More puzzles.
* All gadgets included in the first game are available from the start.
* Side missions now feature in the game.
* Gangs roam Arkham City. These are recorded in Batman's criminal database.
* You find people who work for the Riddler to find Riddler challenges.
* Batman has smoke bombs.

The dual assassination technique in AC2 was pretty slick so I don't see the problem. The combat in Arkham Asylum was incredibly well done so any additions to the mechanics can only further expand and flesh out the gameplay.

Loving that VC2 score. Shows me that the PSP version is just as awesome as the PS3 version. Basically the franchise can succeed on a handheld if necessary.
