Recently, GameStop has made a new deal where if you trade in 3 games, you get an extra $10 in store credit. If you trade in 4 games, you get an extra $20 in store credit. I have the Kung Fu Panda and Lego Indiana Jones bundle that came with my Xbox 360 Elite, and I would like to trade them in. I called GameStop to ask if these were considered 2 games, but they are only considered to be 1 for a trade-in, even though they are 2 seperate games. I think this is a ripoff so I wanna find a way to cheat the system. If I were to take these 2 games out of the single case they came in, and just take in the discs, could they be counted as 2 games? I don't see why it wouldn't work... I'm pretty sure they can take just the disc because I see games in there all the time with unofficial cases that GameStop made. Do you think this is a good idea? Please give me your opinions, thanks.

Any way you slice it if you trade in games to Gamestop you get ripped off.

As a side note if you waltzed into the store weilding a copy of Lego Indiana Jones, and Kung Fu Panda do you think they wouldn't realize where they came from? Also, without the case I'm sure they wouldn't count towards this deal.

Could sell them in a generic case, but I think they actually take off more if you don't have the original casing, but I could be wrong.

Well you see, I'm going to be trading in 2 other games with them. If they would ask I could just say they were my little brother's (even though I don't have a little brother lol). I always thought they took games without cases... maybe I should call them before I take the games in.

I try to avoid gamestop as much as possible these days as they've tried ripping me off numerous times. A month ago I was looking for a used copy of lost odessey for the 360, so natually I went to gamestop to try my luck. I lucked out as they had 1 copy left so natually I wanted to check out the disk to make sure it was in decent condition before I purchased it. The cashier refused to let me check the disks before buying it which immediatly sent off the red alarms. After explaining I would not make the purchase unless I got to see the condition of the disks the cashier gave and handed over the disks. Of course the disk was in the worst possible shape (I'd be stunned if it worked it was that bad) and I refused to buy it. As I walk out the cashier starts ranting how I won't find a disk in better condition. Luckly an FYE was across the store with the game at an even cheaper price, in good condition.

So yea that was my last straw with gamestop and I've vowed that I'd never go there again.

They do take games without cases I'm just saying that if the games aren't complete they might not count towards this deal.

You should have gone back with the discs and showed the cashier to shut them up. As for TC, I really wouldn't be surprised that if you traded in Lego IJ and KFP if you'd get the same amount for both as if you just traded them in as the bundle. Then again, if you get anything over $5 for those I'd really be surprised.

Yeah but you see, with the special deal going on, this would help me get the extra 10 or 20 bucks without sacrificing one of my other games.

Make sure you read up on the deal just incase they snuck in something that says 'with these games only' or 'trading in to get/reserve'.

Yeah I already looked into that. I'm pretty sure it's a decent deal. The only thing I hate about GameStop is how the bug the living **** out of me to reserve games. Like seriously, if I wanted to reserve a game I would tell them. That bugs the crap out of me =/

It's a part of retail, I know where I work, and at Gamestops too, if a manager isn't around, we don't bug the customer with special offers and such. Usually at the ones I go to, they just ask, I say I don't want to reserve anything, and then the transaction continues.

Yeah I guess it's just cause most of the GameStops around here are small ones in the malls and stuff, so the manager is almost always around. That's prolly why.

my cousin went in to trade in guitar hero aerosmith, when it was brand new and they gave him a substantially less amount, because it had no case.

If I remember correctly, gamestop takes 3 dollars off a game's trade-in value if there's no case.

You can trade in games without the boxes and manuals. Either way, Gamestop is ripping you off no matter what. It really makes no difference.

Just FYI only games for 360/Wii/PS3 work and must trade in for more than $2.00
