new halo 3 movies

what are your guys reactions to the new halo 3 movies with the models? i personally think it was amazing and got me even more excited for halo 3, which is the job of the advertisement, so i think it was really well done

I liked them a lot. The guys at bungie didn't really like them, though, MS's the one that makes all the ads and bungie would rather have seen the game itself used in the commercials.

Also note that the people that made the commercials really don't know what happens in the story (in halo 3), so the scene that's shown in these movies is probably just made up by them. Which kinda sucks.

i think if they would've used the actual game that it woulda been "oh another game commerical", you have to make a commercial that sticks out; like the GoeW commercial, it was a mediocre game but that commercial made me drool!Dill-Man

Yea but they still used in game assets for the GeoW one. I'm thinking they were mostly referring to the model replica of the battlefield, which just as well could've been replaced with cinematic but still in game footage.

I really thought it was a cheesy over-done over-paid for ad campaign, like this game really needs it.

Personally this falls under the catergory "Generally pathetic hype machine", which is the point Halo 3 is at now. I would of preferred they just market it and sell it as a good game, not the next coming of Jesus.

I did think the models were cool though. But yet again, the video was completely stupid and I can see why Bungie doesn't like them... it wont add anyone to the "I luv halo lolz" crowd that wasn't there already, and if anything it might turn some people over for a little while that had no strong desire to get the game, but still wanted to play it.

I DO TOO! The movies were nice to watch, but they were trying too hard to appeal to what they thought "mainstream" media viewers wanted, rather than focusing on what the game really has to offer.

Yeah I'm in the same camp as those that were hoping to see some in-game footage but it was a pretty cool commercial and they'll certainly show ones that will have in-game footage anyway.

Archy you need to watch Museum, its the best IMO.
