I have never bought any systems mostly because when i was young my parents didnt want it. I want to buy something off ebay. Which is better a ps2 or a xbox? How long do you think they'll keep making games for both of them? Im not going to get a 360 or ps3 because im saving up for a car. I just want to have something to do when im bored basically. Just trying to decide which one to get. thanks

Choose a PS2 over the original Xbox

Choose Xbox 360 over PS3

But overall, the PS2 is SUPERB when it comes to games library and affordability. You should definately get a PS2 since it is so cheap yet offers so much good games :)

The PS2. It is the cheapest available hardware in retail and has the largest and most varied selection of quality games.

The PS2 has a much wider selection of games and is also still getting regular retail releases. The Xbox is, for all intents and purposes, dead. The PS2 is a much better choice. If you want pure value and don't mind buying a dead system, I'd suggest a Gamecube. You can get one for thirty dollars from Gamestop, and you have 7 days to return things if you don't like them.

Get both used... if you cant afford that, you shouldn't be playing games.

PS3 is by far the best out of the next-gen systems. But the PC is still the ultimate.

Look at the exclusives you want to play.I got XBox,XBox360 and a PS2 and pretty happy with that because my gaming-taste includes almost all types.Multi-Titles look better on the Microsoft-Consoles.

By the way,old XBox-Games aren´t produced anymore and PS2-Games only until end of the year maybe...but no good titles, exept 1 or 2 are coming anymore.Just horrible ports from PS3/360.

If you want a next-gen-system,the 360 got a unbeatable libary already, you can get many games pretty cheap already and 98% of them look and play a bit better then the PS3-Versions.If you really want a Blue-Ray-Player (which only makes sense with a HDTV) anyway the PS3 isn´t the worst choice and I think you will get happy with it too,but if you want to play,be shure to get a 360.

Currently, I only own the X360, but I think you should buy the Nintendo Wii. It's fun and easy to learn. Perferct for someone new to the Gaming World.
