The image pretty much says it all...

No Man's Sky is... well it's really a mess at this point. Sean Murray and most of Hello Games have gone completely silent, the game itself was so underwhelming that Sony had to give out many refunds, and people just straight up hate the game. The game has literally become a joke on the internet at this point, there are memes of Sean Murray making fun of his deceptive nature. The game underdelivered so much that less than a thousand people are still actively playing the game on Steam.

SAUCE

Wow, didn't think it would get that low that quick. Game truly is shit though.

Really is the Destiny of 2016. Except Hello Games weren't able to brainwash their fanbase to keep them playing like Bungievision did.

I never expected much from this game tbh, but I don't think anybody expected it to become the poster boy for failure. Shit's crazy.

Should've stayed a low-key indie game but Sony just had to balloon the shit out of it.

I guess No Man's Sky was a fitting name for this game.

Found a great review on Steam. LINK

This game has endless possiblities.

Almost all of which are not featured in this game.

I had a great time playing this game.

For the first 8 hours and then it was just a grind.

I just couldn't stop playing it.

Mostly because I hoped for something awesome at the center.

But there is literally nothing at the center.

It actually takes things away from you instead.

I got all the achievements

But, I still don't have all of the blueprints.

Message Found, Message Already Learned

This Game is great

at wasting your time.

18/18 quintillion Would recommend

tossing this game into a blackhole.

200,000 people dropped this game in just one month.

Here's a visual aid just to give you an idea.

If it was 19.99 it would have been awesome... I bought it, I did like it for the first few hours, but after a while it got stale...

Actually, it's more like 600,000 who dropped the game, that 212,000 was simply peak concurrent players.

with the negative press this game has received and is STILL getting weeks after release microsoft would be insane to want anything to do with this game.

They've likely been approached about it as well with the total lack of delivery, desperately trying to make up for the losses by expanding platforms.

The game is actually quite good and one of a kind, but it's not for everyone and the biggest problem is that the system requirements are so steep, not to mention the performance problems and optimization. I haven't asked for a refund and I will surely go back when I got some better hardware and they did some more optimizations.

Good.

Didn't take much but the more I heard about it the more I thought "bullshit".

Sean Murray always atruck me as strange though. Even at the reveal it was like he had this continuous smirk look on his face like "I Theyre this stupid." Like he knew his game wasn't really all that.

Does the beach look like this? Because places like this don't exist in their game.

Too bad since the concept of the game was great. Hopefully another more capable company can take this concept and develop it well.

Couldn't happen to a better game. The more I learned about it leading up to release, the more it sounded like a glorified tech demo. Glad I passed on it.

It's not only a terrific example of how not to handle your game pre-launch, but also how not to handle your game post-launch. It's funny, before the game launched Sean Murray was all over the media, but once things started getting hot post launch they've taken too long a vow of silence. Rather than reaching out and saying, "These are the problems we're working on and will patch soon..." they've totally left the remaining fanbase in the dark. There have been nine patches for the game on PS4 and every description is simply "Bug Fixes" with the exception of the latest patch that bears the wordy description "More Bug Fixes". It's been fascinating, really.

Yeah it really is a situation that has had and deserves a lot of scrutiny.

I just think it's a shame this game never lived up to its potential. If it had more content in it, and if the content present wasn't so damn monotonous, I think this game could've enjoyed a lot more players and a steady income of new players.

But since everyone is abandoning this game now, and since nobody will be left by the end of the year, what's motivating the developer to still make content for this and fix the current situation ?

Blaming the developers seems backwards to me - if the gaming community showed restraint and proper education about pre-ordering and waiting for review embargoes to drop, then this type of game can never be a problem.

If there wasn't any pre-orders the developer would get the idea that no one was interested in the game and stop development. The developers just need to do reviews in plenty of time to allow people to cancel there pre-order. Problem solved!

This is what happens when Sony props up a Indie game to be the next Minecraft. Instant failure.

In all honesty, I see why people reference Peter Molyneux. Great ideas but you are on someone else's timeline. The promises eventually have to become lies. This game has lots of them.

I don't think you know what that word means.

And yeah, this game looked like crap to begin with for 60 dollars. I'm not sure why so many people jumped on it like they did... As soon as I saw the monotonous act of shooting rocks to gather resources, I knew it was going to be awful.

I'm not defending the game nor Sean Murray (with his foolish lies) but I will say this, I've put an estimated 30 hours into the PS4 version so I feel like I got my moneys worth but other then that, that's it! But Goddamn, that's a massive drop but then again, it's been a month later after release so it ain't no surprise to see No Man's Sky has it Rock Bottom.

The other day I saw our resident NMS apologist claim it was SW hive mind was the only reason it got bashed. Those numbers are horrific. lol@all the GOTY that was being spammed that first day.
