But like many of you noticed when Eurogamer interviewed Yoshida, that the "used games are ok" statement was only talking around the subject without really confirming anything. I know many of you pre-ordered the PS4 after this statement. Feel free to cancell.

I don't know... I don't think even Captain Sony himself could try spinning this into a positive.

Anyways -- I still doubt they'd go so far as to block used games on a hardware level.

Isnt software level just as bad? The difference is that they will earn more money from online passes and people not having to download everything.BuldozerX

Software-level implies its optional. Hardware implies its mandatory. Thus, if it's optional. that means we won't see every game be blocked by default, which should mean there will be plenty of publishers who decide not to use it.

Well, we just have to wait and see. I figure when they have this option and one starts doing it, the other publishers will follow like a bunch of sheep. BuldozerX

Optional is still better than mandatory, at least, right?

It dpends on whether it would hurt their bottom-line. There aren't enough games using online passes to determine if using them has any ill-effects yet. I figure if those do have adverse affects -- whether that be on game or console sales -- the idea will be abandoned quickly.

I'll wait at least a year or two before purchasing a PS4 unless they both block used games then I will pass altogether.
