Old games that should be resurrected -your suggestions-

my choices (in no particular order)

1. Mech Warriors - we haven't had a great mech sim/action game for aaages

2. anyone remember Die by the Sword? amazing concept with the VSIM controls (swinging the sword with ur mouse or number pad, giving u complete control) it could be fantastic if it were made with todays technology.

3. Final Fantasy VII - i feel like a whole generation of people missed out on that game.

anyways, in the spirit of the GS feature (and easter) id like to see what games you'd like to see resurrected :)

I wish someone would "ressurect" the X-COM series (UFO Defense, Terror From The Deep, Apocalypse, Interceptor). They were awesome games. I know the UFO: Aftermath game and its sequels like to say they are a "spiritual successor to X-COM", but to me they are not, as i have played them. I think X-COM would be amazing with the new technology we have out there, I loved the games way back in the 80s and early 90s when they initially came out

I dunno about resurrections.

Adaptations, twisted variations. Sound like challenging, unknown, thrilling. Make sure it is obvious it is not a resurrection of the old game, but a twist about a sequel on a side aspect or whatever.

For example, if you take the old goldbox of DragonLance, yeah you go GBT, but it isn't the same story, it is a different story...or maybe the story of a group which make sure the first group can complete it mission...or whatever. Silva the silver dragon would definitely be interested in starting up something else to save the world or face wrongdoers...it could be her, or her henchmen...or just again, a sneak-in and out help in a few situations in a totally different story. It would also prolly be appropriated to use 4.0 rules, and twist them for DragonLance. You can always use any previously dropped rules which you think it better in your game...who care if sweep attack made no sense(some could argue that cleave now replace this feature)? It was hilarious in a fight or two.

PS: About 4.0...there was D&D, there was AD&D, there was AD&D 2nd, there was D&D 3.0 and 3.5...so even if somehow they are up to 4.0...it is really the 6th edition of the game rules...at least! (the original D&D has Basic, Expert, Companions, Master and Immortals, which alone is 5 variations in itself...so...it would be the 10th variations of the rules as far as I can tell...the runecyclopedia summarized the first 4 and compiled them)

but really i wouldn't want anything to be brought back as we should leave good games good and not to spiral in to the ocean of dross.

My choices for resurrection are Punch-Out!!, Star Control series, and Streets of Rage.

I could play crono trigger ALL DAMM DAY! top 3 RPG's of all time IMO. just upgrade the graphics like bionic commando and and a seller no doubt. i'm scared if they ever did that though, they would jack it up trying to add extra needless crap. i would have to combo breaker somebody.
