Was playin on my xbox today, and it froze. So i turned it off and back on, and it could find my hard drive, which was plugged in. Luckily it sorted itself out, but i did have a scare!! I have racked up tons of hours of gaming, and nearly losin it all in a flash!! i was nervous for a few minutes.

Has anyone else had that sort of scare with your consoles or PC?

Nope, hasn't happened to me lately. But, I usually back up all my stuff. Though, I'm not sure how to do it on the 360. If anyone knows, let me know.

Used to lose lots on my PC for various reasons. Plenty of crashes and lost data and impromptu reformats.

Lately though even windows PC's are very stable if you treat them right and backing up info is a doddle. So its not all that scary anymore!

I have a 20GB harddrive and a 512MB memory unit. For any important or time consuming saves I copy them from my harddrive onto the MU, so if my harddrive dies I still have a backup. So stuff like GTAIV 100% and Crackdown all 800 orbs are all backed up safely since I wouldn't want to spend all that time totally replaying the games again.

I back up all PS3 games saves to a memory stick every couple of weeks or so, just in case anything happens. Not sure how to back up 360 saves though. I recently deleted around 8 hours of Fable 2 progress by accident though. So I'll have to start it all over again whenever I can be bothered.

Honestly, I never even thought of using the memory unit as a backup. Now I feel dumb. Do they come in black to match my elite?
