A lot of people were maybe put off by the very average original and the raunchy protagonist was perhaps a little embarrassing for some, plus we got those movies (which I didn't dare watch) but Bloodrayne 2 was one of the best action adventure games to date.

The combat was easy but with plenty of interesting ways to kill people, some of the moves totally over the top. The story was surprisingly epic, with the games duration stretching longer then action-adventures games normally do. The lead character, Rayne, when she's not doing the tough girl talk is actually quite a funny and satisfying character with some of the comments she makes (after slices someones legs off, "My God, i'm horrible!") And the vampire ruled acocalypse at the end was a big surprise and made way for what could be an interesting follow-up.

It's one of my all time favorite games, it's a shame there is still no talk of a third one.

yeah, I always had a bit of a soft spot for the Bloodrayne series. Maybe I just have a weakness for blood-drenched vampire chicks, but I really enjoyed both games. They had plenty of problems, no doubt about that, but there was some great ideas and a really fluid combat engine. Some of the dismemberments and specials you could unleash were just awesome.

I was playing through the first one and quit for a while. I never played the second one yet. I want to wait until I finish the first, but that could be a while.

Ive played through both, but they didnt leave a lasting impression... other than the skanky outfits and Juggy mode :P The 2nd game was much better, but was still a little clunky sometimes. Some of the abilities however were really cool, and slicing people apart was gory and satisfying. Most of the boss battles were really frustrating for me though.
