Kind of like Stalker (except that game is pretty actiony, but still), it's probably the scariest game I've ever played.
It could work but only if you are the antagonist. Or they could make a supernatural type game.ComeAtMeBroThat's actually a cool thought. Be the antagonist in a open world horror game.
Isn't that what Alan Wake was originally supposed to be? An open world psychological thriller/horror? Supposedly Remedy changed direction of the game's design because it was too difficult to build suspense in an open world game.
It would be hard to make I guess, but it should be possible, and it would make for some great setpieces
Such as abandoned old manion in the forrest, old run down hospital or asylum in a small town, and a prison... smaller quieky town, where alot of things are going on below the surface.
It can indeed be done, but Ive rarely seen an open world game that does not focus on action... Must take alot of time to build up structures, and reas, and make sure the base level design and ambiant sounds are scary even before work on story and monsters...
I would love such a game, also the ability to pick and chose to go or not go certain places, instread of being led/forced thorugh.
