Hey everyone, I'm thinking about getting the original xbox. I found a decent deal on one that is practically brand new and comes with Halo 1, 2, and Fable and 4 controllers. Should I bother?
I love my Xbox. Personally, if there are no games that really interest you for now on the 360, then there isn't really any harm in getting the original. If you can get it for a good price.
Contrary to popular belief, the XBOX has PLENTY of fantastic exclusives, some REALLY quirky ones. But yeah, if you get one, make sure it actually reads discs... Wouldve been nice if MS continued with BC, so much better playing on the 360

Shelling out for an Xbox 1 on top of a 360 is not something that bothers me a huge deal. It's just the sheer size of the original Xbox and it's not a very sexy looking machine either.

yes i would get it.. thats a prettu good deal and with games like those than its a must buy.. and dont bother with what these other guys say get what you want if you think its worth it

Hey, I just bought a used Xbox online for a reasonable price a few days ago myself. Based off the description its supposed to come with two controllers, all the cables, and its been tested, works fine. I had to because I really don't trust the backwards compatibility of my 360. I've heard that some of the popular titles on the original xbox either aren't on the BC list or have significant problems (KOTOR 1&2, Fable, etc.). I'd much rather play the game the way it was meant to be played on the original system then go through the hassle of dealing with those problems specified.Therefore, I'd say go for it. You have a very good deal on your hands.

Actually, I like the way it looks. It looks like a serious machine, for professionals, lol.
how about buying it from me ? i got the original xbox with 9 other games like Brothers in arms road to hill ,Conker live and reloaded,halo 2,lord of the rings the return of the king,the matrix path of neo,medal of honor frontlines,Jade empire,The godfather and full spectrum warrior ..im letting it go for S$180 which is roughly USD$90 interested contact me...but ill have to ask my dad about the change in plans first though was thinking of selling in singapore only...
Three words! Chronicles of Riddeck. Get it you won't regret it i'm thinking of it as i've got 360 but many games don't have bc, Oddworld Strangers Wraith for example and those that do are buggy as hell, Silent Hill 2 to name one.
Xbox is my second fave console(first is N64) and it is a great console to have. like previously posted, it has a ton of exclusives and good games. it may be big and bulky but it stills plays some kick@$$ games

Lmao well put. But hell yeah go for that deal man! I haven't played many of the original Xbox games but it definitely has its fare share of awesome games. Halo 1 and 2 being two of them. Can't go wrong with that.
Get Phantom Dust, it's a much deeper multiplayer action experience than you'll ever get out of Halo.Zweihand
Phantom Dust was a pretty awesome game for single player as well. From what I've heard, there aren't many online, but you could try for offline multi, but it takes some experience with the system to have good matches.

Very fun, though. I still want to do a system-link match so we won't be spying on each other's screens. It would dramatically increase the strategy and depth... especially when you can't even see which Arsenal they chose right off the bat.

depends how cheap. If its way under $100, sure go for it. You'll have fun with Fable for a while. and if you have some friends that like halo, Halo multiplayer is pretty fun.
