Seen it at a local GameStop for $40... Do you think it's worth to have it for this price?

I'd say yeah.

40$ will open up doorways to amazing games like

Fable, Jade Empire and Kotor 1+2

Yes it is worth it, backwards compatibility on the Xbox360 is complete garbage. Many games aren't compatible as mentioned before, also shaders don't load up sometimes causing green shaded objects and characters, and games suffer from severe framerate problems.

I'd only reccomend it if you're absolutely sure you won't want a 360.

Microsoft says they are still working on the Xbox 360's backward compatibility... I don't know if I believe that...

$40 is worth it for all of the games that were released.

All of which can be bought for PC or played on a 360. Personally I never wanted to own an X-Box due to there being hardly any titles for it that I couldn't play on another platform. Unless your one of those people that want's to have every console I'd pass on that X-Box even if it were $10.

Sure...if you want to play spaceman and pretend the XBox is your jet pack. Other than that it won't do you much good considering it had only a few great games and MS dropped it like curdled milk when they went all 360 on us.

I would skip on the xbox, especially if you have or would be getting a 360. Most of the better games can be played elsewhere or have better sequels on the 360. Forza and Project Gotham are better on the 360. Halo 1/2 and KOTOR work well on the 360.

I wouldn't go for it. Back in the day I had to return 4 Xbox systems to GS to get a working one and the one I got died within a year. I would suggest getting it if you are going to mod it.

It's worth it if you can't afford a 360 and if you like to play your old Xbox games.

Off the top of my head, I can only think of Steel Battalion. Jet Set Radio Future and Panzer Dragoon Orta are on the BC list, but may have glitches. If you want to ensure that an old Xbox game will work properly, you might as well have the original hardware. Also, Xboxes make very nice budget media centers with XBMC.

I still have mine, but haven't used it in a while. I modded it, so selling it to Gamestop wasn't really an option.

$40 for a xbox is a great deal IMO! I bought one myself about 6 months ago. Mainly for the fact I wanted to play Shenmue II and I have no next gen consoles anymore.(Got rid of my PS3 for a bedroom set.... LOL) Anyways I think it's a steal because you get the HDD with it too! Plus some people just like collecting consoles..... Not that I do or anything, but some people dig it.

I guess so, but I would either get the 360 or just play PC games. They have several xbox games on the PC.

Get it. Xbox 360 backwards compatibility is horrible so there is zero reason to use it for Xbox originals.

  • Halo: CE
  • Halo 2
  • Shenmue II
  • Panzer Dragoon Orta
  • Jet Set Radio
  • Jade Empire
  • Fable
  • Rallisport Challenge 2

I'd say that's enough reason to buy one. Some of those games are on PC but if you want to play them how they were originally, or you're a collector/enthusiast, go for it.

I got an xbox 1 about 2 years ago payed $200 for the console, nfs most wanted and 3 controllers + cords.

I still play mine a bit, but if you're getting a 360 with a hard drive don't bother buying one.

for $40, its a good deal. Games like "The Warriors" dont work on the 360 (for some stupid reason) but the console is HUGE, so be sure you have room for it. lol

edit: plus you can get Xbox games really cheap now. if you don't already have a xbox360, go ahead and spend the $40 and get an xbox. then try out games like crimson skies, ninja gaiden, and the warriors.

I would buy it, yeah its been dead since 2005. But the games are super cheap and look still good. You can spend 300 on the 360 and play xbox games on it. Or spend that much and get a ton of games with it.

If you have a 360 or plan on buying one, no. Most Original Xbox games are BC now.
