Is anyone else bothered by the amount of shooters thats constantly being released over more mentally stimulating games. Hell even the Resident Evil Series has been dumbed down from a Survival horror to a mindless shooter. Dont get me wrong i love mindlessly shooting Zombies, Mutants, The infected, Nazis, and my personal favorite Infected Zombie Mutant Nazis but the amount of Shooters compared to the amount of other games is ridiculous. The only way a person a game where they have to think is if they play some DS game with cartoon graphic. Again dont get me wrong i love cartoon graphics. Its just disappointing to see that there were more games that took you on adventures and made you think and solve puzzles and problems all all with realistic graphics on the playstaion and ps2 then there are now. Again dont get me wrong shooters arent brainless and neither are their players i understand that modern shooters take a lot from many different types of game and incorporate them in to nice packages....but am i the only one that thinks that the gaming industry is becoming too focused on on shooters?

I didn't buy a single FPS in 2008. There is much to find in all genres so I don't mind FPS being the popular genre.

Nope not bothered at all because well, I love 'em besides there's still plenty of other games that come out that aren't shooters anyway.

Yeah the industry is a little boring. I think part of the reason Nintendo has reclaimed the industry is because they have creative games. But as for Resident Evil I think its still good.

Shooting games (both FPS and 3PS) are definitely saturating the market right now. But most of them are of very good quality. There's so much to pick from that I can't really be annoyed by it. From Halo to Call of Duty, F.E.A.R., BioShock, Gears of War, and Resident Evil, there are a couple gems and just great, fun titles available in the genre. It's much better than the days when platformers starring anthropomorphic animals were overrunning everything in the 90s.
