I was just wondering what do you guys think are some of the most overpowered video game playable characters out there. I'm sure there is quite a few for us to discuss.
Vergil from Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition, soo fun to play as him, especially when you had Super Corrupt Vergil (unlimted devil trigger, Nelo Angelo).

Akuma- SFA 2 and SFA 3 version - air hadouken, fast recovery, good damage, easy to guard crush opponent using hurricane kicks in V-ISM
Cable- MvC2- Pretty much the king of the keep-a-way of the game. Hyper Viper Beam will make you cry. Instant start up and hits the entire screen in 1 frame + chip damage.
Cyber Akuma- MSHVSSF- Extremely powerful and fast. That is probably the best way I can put it. He is in a league of his own. The amount of damage he does is insane.
Ibuki- SF3: NG and DI. Her SAIII allows her to follow up right after into another combo. She has too many combo links into SAIII and causes huge stuns with it. Did I mention she has an infinite combo ?
Shin Akuma- SFA 3 and CvS2. Dual air hadoukens, very fast recovery time, stong super arts, easy to guard crush opponent using hurricane kicks in V-ISM. His Misogi in CvS2 will just destroy anyone's health bar.
Any fighting game except Tekken but mainly Soul Calibur!xmen1414
VF4+ doesn't have super powerful characters unlike Tekken 5 which has Devil Jin and Steve Fox.

In the name of science my friend and I had a Jaws vs Oddjob showdown. Jaws got karate chopped to death and Oddjob emerged without a scratch. It was pathetic. We swore never to disclose who was Jaws and who was Oddjob.
But anyways... Leon Kennedy in RE4. A horde of pitchfork wielding peasants/ scythe wielding cultists never looked so feeble.
Just about any RPG character excluding those from MMO's, if given the ability to grind.

RPG characters are not over powered. Its just that they have allies (w/c in most RPGs, you can't pull them out).
Imagine playing an RPG w/ just one character (Cloud only, Squall only, Tidus only, Jaster [Rogue Galaxy], Fayt [Star Ocean TET], Jack Russel [Radiata Stories]), it would be almost impossible to beat those games story.
The only RPG character I think is over powered is Sora in KH2. Donald and Goofy aren't really a help except for healing.

I completely agree, The Black knight had got to be one of the greatest gaming characters ever, he completely overpowers everything.
[spoiler] He's actually a lot stronger in Radiant Dawn, the chapter 'A Reason to Fight' is probably the best example of The Black Knight's overkill, you can seriously clear whole chapters just using him alone. [/spoiler]
Overpowered characters! Where to start? Kratos, Dante, Master Chief, Link, Samus, all three characters from Mercenaries, Razel and Kain, Nightmare, Celavantes (I think thats the right spelling), Bison, Ken, Alucard, Mega Man, Simon & Richter Belmont, All the Jedi & Sith Characters in any Starwars games, Felix & Dom, main character in Fable, Pacman after a power pellet, any super concept sports car in any racing game and Jetuy/Dingo from Zone of the Enders 2.
