Does anything ever hurt you from playing games? My back and neck hurt a lot right now. I usually sit in a computer chair or lie in my bed when I play games.

Depends on the game, if it's action-oriented like DMC3 my hands hurt like hell after an hour or so of continous play. I also dislike playing portable games for a long while because I'm forced to bend my neck for longer than usual.

I lie in my bed when I play games.

Not a good idea, posture is important. I always sit on a chair with my back supported.

LOL, good thread. My hands hurt like a son of a female dog back in 2006 when I was playing three or more hours of Metroid Prime: Hunters every day. Hammering that DS trigger with your fingers stuck in an "undesirable" position WILL defeat you after a while.

yes, PC in particular gives me problems as I have a bad back/neck and hands. I often wear carpal tunnel gloves when on the PC anyway but pretty much have to wear them for any game where you click a lot. I often can't play PC games for too long.

No pain, though in the past I've probably had a little eyestrain.

The worst was feeling nauseated after playing Sly Cooper for the first time (was my first cel-shaded game, I think). Also, Prey made me really sick.

Either you need to work out or you need to get in a more comfortable position when playing games. I have a huge gaming monitor on a desk that is the perfect height. I can play for a full day without any discomfort.

I do remember I playing my gameboy at the park and my neck and bottom hurt cause i had to look down at a weird angle to keep the sun off the screen and the bench was made out of stone. I can imagine how laying down to play a game would put you at an angle that would get uncomfortable after a while.

I developed a Hunched Back from sitting on my bed. So I used my computer chair for a while to straighten that out (No Pun Intended). Now the chair hurts like Hell, so ive completely rearranged my room so that I can sit on my bed with pillows againts my headboard and have a perfect view of the TV. I have also NEVER got a headache from playing games, but thats probably because I play them so much. As for excerise, I do it quite regularly. So maybe it helps, Im not sure.

I get gamer neck now and then. I just don't realise that, when I get really into a game, I crane my neck forward and tense up.

I've been playing DS a lot lately and I've noticed really strong shooting pains in my hands, especially in my thumbs. It's usually hand / wrist pain that I get.

Last year, I had Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 for the Wii, and the swinging motion with the Wii Remote caused my shoulder to start hurting, so I had to stop. Also, my neck hurts if I play a portable system for too long.

Back and neck pain, but nothing too severe, really more like an ache. A good stretch is usually sufficient. I remember my thumbs actually had callouses though when I kept playing the PS2. Oh, I've had my eyes hurt too from sleeping too late too often from playing a game. The screen made me feel like my eyes were burning.

Lastly, there is of course the butt cheeks falling asleep type of pain. Too much sitting down.

My thumbs swelled up pretty bad after using analogue sticks for the first time ever, other than that its just the usual neck pain when I play games on my bed.

Playing lots of mmos and using the mouse a lot can inflame your ulnar nerve (which people mistakenly call "Carpal Tunnel"). That happens to me once every... 2 or so years.

Also, Guitar Hero was pretty rough on the arms for my first few weeks.

I'm generally sitting in a gaming chair while gaming (whether on a portable system or not), and therefore usually don't have back or neck issues.

Sometimes after 5 or 6 hours of concentration on a game though, I start to get a headache. This is usuallyy cured by a 15-30 minute break and a couple ibuprophen.
