I bet it's the same idiots that went out and bought single player only games.

What exactly did you do after you beat your single player games 2 times?

Why do people complain when game has no single player but don't care when it doesn't have multiplayer? Multiplayer gives you entertainment for longer time and gets your money worth.

@legaldruggie: I bet I'll get more hours out of Fallout 4 than I would from Star Wars Battlefront.

The thing is that multiplayer gets stale if it's the only thing you have to do.

Multiplayer is unbelievably boring, I was more excited over Super Star Wars on PSN than Battlefront...

I have no reason to complain about a game I'm not going to buy.

Single player games are basic, elementary and essential.

you don't need to beat the game twice, you play once in a full of contents and challenging campaign and having fun of it.

A game is a game is a game. It doesn't matter to me if it's single-player only, multiplayer only, or both. If like it then I'll play it and that's all that really matters.

You seem to miss some key things here.

First Battlefront is a reskinned Battlefield 4 and is pretty much a DLC for BF4.

Second, the problem is not that it has multiplayer only , the problem is that they charge you 60$ + Premium for a Multiplayer only game that is useless if let´s say the internet goes down or something happens to the servers. A single player game without multiplayer can still be played, it does not require internet (in most cases) or other people,

I believe all mmo only games are killing the industry and fast. Why you say, Well that's all were getting right now. If you mmo people think for just a moment about how the lack of single player is going to be good. Our single player dollars are staying in our single player wallets! I do not think this industry can rely on just the mmo crowd. But the industry as a hole is risking everything that I'm wrong. Time will tell and my money stays in the wallet waiting for the hole game again not just the mmo part!!!

Why is someone playing a game twice?

You beat the game and then play another game.

@Jaysonguy: I know plenty of people who play single-player games more than once. I do it, especially when I wanna relive a good game again.

That's terrific but it's not a prerequisite.

Most games you play once and move on, sometimes you come back to them sometimes you don't,. The idea that someone would finish a game, wait out the credits, then slap their hands together exclaiming "HOT DOG!" as they start it again is insane.

I do think it's primarily due to people finding it's content rather slim and the 50$ Season Pass crap if you want more in a couple of months.

Mmmm spend 80-120 dollars on a game I will spend 100's of hours in playing through unique stories, and worlds, or a bare bones shooter that has less then half the content previous games in their series had, while making you do the exact same thing over and over again with 11 yr kids yelling into microphones in your squad. Oh wait I forgot star wars battlefront doesn't use any form of team work, just another random **** fest do what you want alone multiplayer shooter. I'll buy a multiplayer only game when the content is there too make it worth the money. Star wars doesn't have anywhere near enough to warrant it's price tag. It's not like I don't pay multiplayer only games, hell I play eve online daily, but the difference there is it has content and a wack load of it, which makws me not mind the $13 a month.

Not sure why people are attacking the OP. He actually has a point. I know plenty of games I have played on multiplayer that brought in more game play hours than many single player games.

So many people have these false memories of the previous games, yet fail to realize that they were multiplayer only games too. The so called 'campaign' or galactic conquest modes were literally objective based multiplayer matches against the A.I. The new Battlefront is phenomenal, simply put. If you disagree that's fine, but don't start whining about how much "worse" it is compared to it's predecessor because not only are you wrong, but stupid as well. That being said sure I miss the space battles, but I'm sure it's coming later on in the form of DLC. To whomever said that multiplayer is repetitious fails to realize that after the completion of a single player only game that there's nothing else to do but replay the same exact game over again... So how is multiplayer any different? I have other people to play against constantly using different strategies which forces me to constantly change mine as opposed to seeking patterns from A.I. and breezing thru a game.

At least it will be there. At least your opponent and game strategy will be different every time compared to single player only games. Youre saying MP will get stale, but like I asked in my original post, what do you do after you beat say Uncharted? That won't get stale?

Like it or not, MP games will always be worth more than single player only games. Not even 100+ hour SP only games can compete.

I just delete it! believe it or not people do get to point they finish the game! BTW there's a multiplayer in the new Uncharted 4 coming.

^^^^ This delete the game when I'm done. And move on the the next one. I generally house 1 or two multiplayer games on my computer at a time. Currently one is eve online and one is BF4, and I play single player games in between. Once I'm done with a single player game I delete it, install another one and move on. Simple as that. I play games for unique experiences not to keep playing the same maps over and over and over again. Hell I can only take a few hours of battlefield before I'm burnt out completely and don't come back for days on end. So would much rather a story, or an actual strategy game on my pc, where you know I have to use different strategies units and tactics to destroy my ai enemy.

If your too consider the last three games only multiplayer games then this new one has to be the worst released in the series, as it houses the least amount of content out of any of the battlefronts too date. Including the psp versions. Good looking textures and nice noises don't make me want to pay a ridiculous amount for something that can't even match it's predecessors in the content department all while at a higher price point.

Yeah, this is the point I was making in the other thread. Previous Battlefront games had way more content for less money.

As to the Op's question, I see it more as a question of "story" content and perceived bang for your buck. Multiplayer only games used to be much less common, and with games like (most of) the CoD series you typically get a really solid campaign -and- great multiplayer. I think people would have loved to see a new Star Wars storyline. Hell, KOTOR rekindled my interest in Star Wars after the prequels almost completely killed it.

However, nobody complains about Tribes Ascend's lack of a campaign because the game isn't $60 plus DLC. While the price of AAA game development has increased significantly, when you compare the "numbers" of how much content you get today versus what you used to get it's easy to feel like you are getting less value for the same (if not more) money.

Fighting game's do fine without a single player mode and they are still $60, so I don't see why Battlefront 3 should be less than $60. Plus, it has bots any way’s for offline play. And the single players of Dice’s last two Battlefied games are horrible, so they are just wasted assets for the studio.

Yeah, a lot of people complaining and hating aren't even playing the game. It's the most MP fun I've had since my all-time fav mp game: Starhawk.

@mastermetal777: This is very true. With Battlefront, it is just a fun game to put in and play without having to think to much about the objective. Just go out and shoot as many enemies as possible to help your team achieve victory. That is the fun thing about this style of game. Does it get boring, sure but then again quite a bit of games get boring after awhile that is why you have a library to change up the routine. Would this game be better with a storyline(campaign) added in, not sure at this point. i would much rather have the developer take their time and develop a deep rich storyline to play either as a dlc or separate game by itself with co-op as a possibility. Personally I enjoy the game for its fun factor and its just a way to let loose and relax, a chance to get lost in another world even if for only a hour.

Great game. As long as you realize it is a battlefront game and not battlefield game then you should be happy. So many multiplayer modes that I cannot understand how anyone can get bored within hours. Have put in over 30 hours, and it is still my current go to game.
