Perfect Dark vs Goldeneye

So which was better the 3D shooter that started it all or the game that had some of the greatest weapons in gaming history

Goldeneye was one of my childhood games. But of course, i played perfect dark too and it was ok. Goldeneye was superior only because of fun multiplayer action with your friends ;-;

Perfect Dark was much better from a quality standpoint. And subjectively, I thought it was more fun.

Goldeneye,its classic and has a better game play then perfect dark and really good character selection

Although both games were fun in their own rights and had their own share of good and bad, I feel Goldeneye had the better multiplayer, so I throw my vote for Goldeneye.

Prefer Perfect Dark over Goldeneye, while Goldeneye is a classic Perfect Dark had co-op, allowed bots for multiplayer and it has better weapons. Having said that i can barely stand to play Perfect Dark multiplayer anymroe because of the appaling frame rates.

Perfect Dark was Superior in many ways but i had more fun with goldeneye. Also PD required the memory expansion slotand at at the time I was about 10/ 11 years old and too broke to afford oneso I could only play multi player for the 1st 6 or so months till xmas rolled round n the old mother put one in my stocking :).

perfect dark gets my vote, while goldeneye was a groundbreaking console FPS perfect dark took it to a whole new level with all the weapons and secondary weapon modes were perfect, voiceovers, Co-Op single player, took advantage of the expansion pak and a kickass multiplayer that me and me bro used to play for hours

Well I don't know about the rest of you but Goldeneye is what began my craze with FPS's. Also it was fun to spend firday nights with buddies kickin the crap out of them. Oh and mines were fun too 8)

Goldeneye simply based off of PD's absolutely abysmal framerate. It played like trying to run in waste deep water feels.

It really was that bad. Multiplayer was almost unwatchable.

Perfect Dark completely overthrows Goldeneye in every aspect once you have the Expansion pack. Co-Op Story mode was better, Multiplayer was better, Graphics were better, Gameplay was better, Story was better, Soundtrack is one of the best I ever heard in a game period, stage design was better, secondary fire was a great addition, waaaayyyyyy more weapons than Goldeneye, Featured Goldeneye Weapons and Stages, Enemies were smarter and fought waaayyyyy harder, customization of characters on Perfect dark was great, stages were harder, atmosphere actually made you feel more like a spy than Goldeneye did, the list goes on. Perfect Dark COMPLETELY dominates Goldeneye in Every Single Aspect even when the Alien Stages kicked in, it took Perfect Dark to a completely new level of awesome. Goldeneye was a good game in my opinion as well but it didn't hold a candle to Perfect Dark in any way, shape, form or fashion.

Perfect Dark is a much better game, it's basically an updated Goldeneye engine with more weapons, better single player, and a crap load of more gameplay features.

I think Goldeneye is better. I have played, but do not own, Perfect Dark for Nintendo 64. I thought that the main menus were confusing and the game used the same Goldeneye engine. I did enjoy the game play though. Goldeneye definitely wins for me, I have a lot of great memories with it.

By adding my new vote, I tied the overall results at 50-50. So what will be the tie breaker?

Golden Eye has it's place in history, but man Perfect Dark was just an experience. I put 100's of hours into that game, and because all my friends loved the game as well, we would spend hours and hours playing it.

I would love to see a true successor to the N64 Perfect Dark, as Zero or whatever was a disaster. I still think the original PD is better than many of the FPS games out today.

I played both games a ton, and Perfect Dark was better for single player, and Goldeneye was better for multi-player. However, I played more single player than multiplayer on those games, I'd have to go with PD by a slim margin.

I honestly don't understand how anyone could think that Goldeneye has better multiplayer than Perfect Dark.

I loved both games, but I felt like Perfect Dark was an enhanced and perfected version to the almost perfect Goldeneye.

I wonder why I never bought Perfect Dark back then... Since I've only played like what, five minutes of Perfect Dark, I have to say Goldeneye.

I had tons of fun with both, some of the best game I've ever played; but I have to say PD by a small margin, the multiplayer with bots and lots of options was just perfect.

I played both extensively when they came out. My vote is for Goldeneye though. I completed it on the hardest difficulty for each mission. Great singleplayer, and chaotic 4screen death matches with friends was awesome. We all hated whoever used Oddjob though.:P

I prefer Perfect Dark. Both were were great but to me Perfect Dark was the better game.

Perfect Dark owns Goldeneye in very department and was the best shooter of the generation.Goldeneye laid the foundation but Perfect(appropriate titel) Dark improved every aspect.it is still better than most shooter games out now.And the offline multiplayer is still unsurpassed,even today.Only the Timeplitters series could compete with Perfect Darks multiplayer department.

I'm sure I'm just like everyone else... when goldeneye came out, it was king. nothing could touch it for fun and multiplayer. I thought "you can't top this". Enter Perfect Dark... OMG. Improved upon everything from goldeneye/added classic multiplayer levels/multiplayer bots/secondary fire...

The king is dead... long live the king. (sorry goldeneye... you will always have a place in my heart)

I picked Goldeneye because me and my buddy actually broke the game playing multiplayer so much. But i have to send love out to Perfect Dark. Gotta love that laptop gun lol

It was a toughy, but I went with Perfect Dark.
