Plans for this were announced a while ago, but I guess it wasn't in full production until now. In addition to the remarkable fluid/gas physics of the original, it looks like light will come into play. Dylan says a PJS3 won't happen because they're throwing everything they can think of into the 2 (also, in the comments, like all right thinking gamers, he stated he was looking forward to Red Dead Redemption).
My only complaint about PJS one was that the title was completely misleading, since it is more of a puzzler than shooter (yes, things shoot and you and you shoot back, but a lot more effort is expended into figuring out how one reaches the scientists that need saving).
