Playstation 1 RPG's ??

Im considering purchasing some PS1 games off ebay and amazone

Im mainly interested in buying RPGs similar to the game Final Fantasy, games where you adventure around then get into battles, gain experience points, fantasy style and can upgrade weaponary and stuff like that.

I also like 2D and 3D platformers such as Crash Bandicoot and Medievil, all help is greatly considered, thank you :)

You should pick up the three best titles from Square: XenoGears, Vagrant Story, Final Fantasy Tactics. Also if can find these titles give them a try: Persona 2, Lunar: Silver Story Complete, Parasite Eve 1 & 2, Suikoden, Final Fantasy 9,Final Fantasy7,FF8, Valkyrie Profiletheres more but I can't think them ATM.

Did anyone enjoy Beyond The Beyond? I remember playing that game years ago. I think it was pretty good, but not as good as other titles mentioned above.

Chrono Cross is a great game even if the story was a little confusing but has great gameplay and a great soundtrack. (I didn't play Chrono Trigger). I also hear a lot of good things about Xenogears if you can find a cheap copy.

My favorites are Xenogears, Valkyrie Profile, Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete, Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete, Vagrant Story, Chrono Cross, Suikoden 1& 2, and Final Fantasy VII, VIII, & IX. Final Fantasy Tactics is my all time favorite playstation game if you are into strategy RPGs.

TC, get the Persona games on the PSP (if you own one)

The Persona games on the PSX are expensive and archaic. The PSP offers new additions to the gameplay,new cutscenes,slightly better graphics, better audio but the game still feels and looks old...

So if you want the Persona games, get them when they come out for the PSP. Not a great series IMO, but each to his own :)

Get Vagrant Story. Its the best rpg on ps1. I was so annoyed to find that my brother had traded it in for the italian job game, he/I was so ripped off as it is worth so much more!

I didnt see anyone name The Legend of Dragoon so ill name that

I second (or 3rd?) Legend of Dragoon and Jade Cocoon.
