playstation 2

so, i have a playstation2, the problem is, i don't know whitch games i shoud get, can you help me?

Depends what you’re interested in.

The PS2 has one of the best game libraries available.

I like:

Sly Racoon 1-3

Jak & Daxter 1-3

Final Fantasy X

Fur Fighters

Ratchet and Clank 1-3

Kao the Kangaroo: Round 2

Kingdom Hearts 1-2

Bully

Spider-Man 2

There’d be more that I could think of but they’re some of my favourites. The PS2 has some great racing games available also. Like Need for Speed or Grand Turismo.

You can never go wrong buying a Playstation 2. Such a great library of games!

@Enragedhydra: I’d love to play the Dark Cloud games but to find physical copies are rare. Especially for the first game.

@speeny: I found number one for $10 at the local pawn shop. Dark Cloud 2 is more expensive though though I do own a copy as well.

We can give better answers if you tell us what kinds of games you like, but until then here are a few of my favorites:

PS2 games are very common at fleamarkets. And very cheap.

The best part of PS2 collecting, for me, is just to buy these cheap games at random, and then try them out!

And lots of these games I've never even heard of before, have turned out to be really good.

Sure, all those PS2 classics listed above are great too, especially if you have not played them before on any system. But buying games at random is much more fun as you can stumble on many a hidden gem.

And on PS2, buying random stuff from fleamarkets is so cheap that it dont really matter if half those games turn out to be bit crap!

PS2 is the dumping ground for every inferior port ever.

It’s silly complicated dual processors ‘emotion engine’ struggles to maintain smooth frame rates and if you take pot luck on a game there is a 50 in 20,000 chance it won’t be shovelware.

The video output is inadequate for flat screen TVs and the console is unreliable and ugly and all the cds will probably be scratched from the last 20 years of child-handling.

Just buy a Dreamcast and a vga box and a keyboard and play Typing of the Dead or Ferrari Challenge in high def 720p and ridiculous oversized controllers and have way more fun and enjoy all those 60fps super optimised games using a home Naiomi arcade board with RISC processor and PowerVR gpu.

Dreamcast = gourmet console

PS2 = kebab and chips

Burnout 3

GTA (all of them especially Vice City)

Final Fantasy 10

Boulders Gate

Dark Cloud 2, more to do, more in depth in my opinion. Both are great.

If you like shooters you have to play the Timesplitters games

Anubis 2 of course.
