Pokemon MMORPG!?

Im really suprised that Nintendo has'nt thought of this already, with the sucess of WoW and all...

think of it, same gameplay values is pokemon (run around, catch pokemon, challange trainers, explore), from a 3D 3rd person perspective ala warcraft, and instead of other trainers being AI, have them as other players =)

what would also be cool is cross platform gameplay, between the Wii, PC, 360, and PS3 - nintendo would make MILLIONS i think

any thoughts?

Nintendo already shot down the idea. This isn't an original idea at all, and it virtually goes against Nintendo's online policies. They have a huge fear of online predators, and a Pokemon MMO, being naturally aimed at kids, would just be the biggest invitation for predators.

Didn't think about that... yeah that would be pretty scary for parents when they know there are so many online predators around.

There are online Pokemon games. Just google search them.

It would never happen plus there would be problems with moving pokemon from a single player experince to a MMO one while keeping the addictive gameplay intact

That could be fun if they did it right. Even though I hate MMOs I would try it.

I've thought about this before actually. Pokemon is essentually an offline MMORPG already, just with a focus on more then strict leveling up, the fact that Nintendo havn't made a 'proper' console Pokemon RPG is something that's always bugged me.
