I moved in the past couple months (while the game season was at a slow-down) and it's quite a hike to get to a game retailer for me. I'm trying to pre-order some games that I'm worried might sell out on release date and I was thinking about using Amazon. I'm curious if Amazon delivers on release date or if it comes a few days later. Also, I live in an apartment and I'm curious if anyone has experience with them putting it in mailboxes or if they leave it at the door.

I appreciate the help everyone!

The customer chooses the shipping service. Unless you're willing to pay more money, you won't get the game on release day. Since I am an Amazon Prime member, I get free release day delivery on most big name games. Most of the time they're already under MSRP and factor in no tax. I hardly buy games from stores unless there's a serious deal.

It could take up to a week or more if you use free super saver shipping, but you do save a lot of money that way. As far as apartment goes, all of my deliverables arrived at the office. You just go in and pick it up.

I only buy locally if it's used because then it's easy to return, but otherwise, it's all Amazon for me.

I've preordered two games from Amazon. One had release-date delivery and one didn't (though it was delivered less than a week later. if I remember correctly, 2-3 days at the maximum). i'm not sure why, but that's just my experience. it might be because Resident Evil 5 was a huge title and Blazblue wasn't, but that's how it went down.

anyways, I live at a house, so they left it on my doorstep.. I'm not sure about apartments, though.

I've never pre-ordered a game from Amazon, but I've pre-ordered more than a few movies. If I want it on release day, I pick 2 day shipping and I've always received the movie on release day lol.
