If i preorder a game with a credit card online, and the game doesnt come out til November, does it take the money at the time of purchase or close to shipping of the game?

Depends on the website. Some may take like 5$ now and charge the rest on shipping, while others charge everything on shipping day

I'm guessing this depends on the site. Amazon doesn't charge you until they ship the product.

On top of that, it's actually cheaper to order from Amazon than it is at Gamestop, especially if they have the release-day delivery option. With Gamestop, if you want it overnight, you'd have to pay an extra ten bucks (depending on where you live) just to get it the day of release. With Amazon, you just add like a $1.00 and that's it.
