I got two PS1's for free, and before I go investing into games like FF7, I want to know whether I need a memory card to save games onto, or does it save into the system already?

Wow, you must really enjoyed your Xbox.
You NEED A MEMORY card, or something to save the game. Back then, Consoles didn't have HDD's. Xbox did that first,
FF7 is a rediculous investment...I was going to purchase it less than a month ago and it was fetching prices of $80+ for used versions. I know you got the PS1 for free, but my advice is if your really just trying to play FF7 get ePSXe (an emulator) and download FF7. It'll save you the money and trouble of finding FF7, and it creates it own "memory card" to save files to your computer. Then if you're really trying to get into the PS feel of it, you can buy the Logitech Dual Action USB controller (shaped like a PS2 controller).producer2357
It is against the rules of the forum to talk about emulators and ROMs because they are illegal. Please read the Terms of Use Agreement to find out more forum rules.
Thank you.
By the way, TC, I would recommend the Spyro the Dragon trilogy for the PS. They are inexpensive on ebay and worlds better than all of the other *****y Spyro games out there.

I agree. Also, if the system came with a dualshock, look into Ape Escape.
BTW, you might want to edit that first part of your post out now. You can get modded for just quoting a post that breaks the rules.

Actually, some older consoles allowed you to save data onto its onboard memory. I think it was mainly the CD-based consoles, like the Turbo Duo that allowed this.
