Anything that isn't platinum, a sport or a formula one game?

The original Twisted Metal is pretty hard to find over here.

Pick up Kula World. Probably one of the weirdest games I've ever played. Goes for crazy amounts so you could probably save money getting a PSP and downloading it from the store.

Now I doubt you will these games, YouTube them if you are not sure, but these games are classics: X-Files (trust me just look it up) Nascar Racing (I know you probably dont like sport games, but this Nascar racing game is pretty cool if you want a simple racing game) Fighting Force 1&2 (may seem glitchy, but they are pretty fun) Driver 1 & 2 (these are fun games, I'm sure you'll like them a lot) PM me if you have questions about these games?

To save time listing games, pretty much every Capcom game, every RPG, and every exlusive for the PS1 will net you a great collection. Of course getting a hold of 'every' isn't really plausible I suppose, but I think these are what make up a great PS1 collection.

Wow I am glad I am not the only one that liked the X Files game. That was actually a well done FMV game surprisingly, and what was nice it had the same production values of that found in the TV series. I also liked the multiple endings and it felt like a true X Files mystery, It was actually a very good game.

Grandia was on the Saturn first, 2 years before the PS1, and the Saturn version is also better visually.

then there is also Resndent Evil , where its debatable which version is better.

as a side note , Resident Evil 2 was in development for the Saturn , but Capcom cancelled it

Man, I was a Sega Fanboy growing up for sure, it just sucked that both the Saturn, and Dreamcast lost most of it's third party support rather quickly. You also had a slight few who really took advantage of the hardware, while some made piss-poor efforts! I remember playing games like RE Code Veronica on my Dreamcast, and being blown away by the visuals, only to play Tomb Raider Chronicles to see them have no fingers!!They had box carboard hands for crying out loud! I am going to try to get my hands on a copy of Grandia and Resident Evil for Saturn.I saw some cool vids on Youtube for Grandia(Saturn version). Looked nice! Do they have a North American version of Grandia?

sadly, Grandia Saturn stayed in Japan. There were talks apparently between Sega and Game Arts over bringing the game to the west, possibly being translated and published by Sega, but eventually Sega said no.

its ironic, because at one point Grandia was THE RPG on the Saturn , and one of the few games at the time to match FF7 on the PS1. ironic that it ended up getting an international release.....on the rival PS1 console......

and don't even get me started on how few developers used the Saturn's hardware properly......

True. It's like the Saturn is todays PS3, with the architecture, and having those 2 processors, one for video, and one for audio.I think the processors were made by Hitachi. I think the Saturn was just a bit harder to develop for than the PS1.

the Saturn is way more complex then that. it has 2 CPUs, 2 video chips, a sound chip and a sound processor, as well as a processor strictly for the CD drive. yeah , the Saturn was pretty crazy, the other issue was a lack of support for transparency effects and lighting. now that doesnt mean the Saturn can't produce effects, it has nearly twice CPU capability of the PS1, primarily for this purpose, but most developers found it too time consuming.

the PS1 also had RISC CPUs, that was just a type of CPU. in terms of overall peak performance the Saturn is the more powerful machine, even in terms of 3D polygons. but whether a developer could get the hardware running well is the million dollar question here.

[QUOTE="Darkman2007"] the Saturn is way more complex then that. it has 2 CPUs, 2 video chips, a sound chip and a sound processor, as well as a processor strictly for the CD drive. yeah , the Saturn was pretty crazy, the other issue was a lack of support for transparency effects and lighting. now that doesnt mean the Saturn can't produce effects, it has nearly twice CPU capability of the PS1, primarily for this purpose, but most developers found it too time consuming.Darkman2007

Oh. What's the deal with those RISC chips anyways. Isn't there something special , or different about those?

the PS1 also had RISC CPUs, that was just a type of CPU. in terms of overall peak performance the Saturn is the more powerful machine, even in terms of 3D polygons. but whether a developer could get the hardware running well is the million dollar question here.

Sad really. I never really got into the PS1, although my younger brother loved it, and the games did look pretty nice. I remember watching him play the first Resident Evil, and it was impressive. That and the first Gran Turismo were very good showcase games for the system. I just never was interested enough in that console to get one. Maybe it was because I owned the SAturn and wanted the good games to come to that system.I guess I was a bit salty in that matter. I finally got a PS1 just recently, because I want to own every game system for my game room.Well most of them. I don't know that I'll get a 3DO, or Neo Geo. I already have the infamous Jaguar, which that controller is super retarded!!!

Resident Evil was on the Saturn too, something people seem to forget when they mention it as "a PS1 exclusive"

good version too, with its share of good and bad against the PS version.

Jade Cocoon: Story of the Tamamayu if you have ever heard of it or seen it. Good RPG a bit short but it was quite fun from what I have played and been told.

If you enjoy JRPGs, the first 2 Suikoden games are PS1 exclusives (though I think the first game is now available on PSN), and are quite fun.
