Hi, I have lost my PS1 Memory card. I am getting Spyro Year of the Dragon for PS1. I know you can play PS1 games on the PS2, but my question is, do you have to have a ps1 memory card to save ps1 games onto it, or can you use a PS2 memory card to save PS1 games onto it?

when your ps1 card is full, you can transfer files to the ps2 card. you cannot play the saves off the ps2 card though. when you want to play a save but its not on the ps1 card, you just transfer back but make sure you have enough space

i maybe misreading the thread but it sounds like your gonna play that game on a ps2 correct? its just a ps1 game right? If it is played on the ps2 either card will work. if its played on the ps1 only a ps1 card will work.kit352

Nope, PSX memory cards only for PSX games whether you play it on your PSX system or your PS2 system. PS2 memory cards only for PS2 games while playing on the PS2 system.

Yes, of course. You can ONLY save PS1 games on a PS1 memory card, regardless of if you're playing them on a PS1 or PS2.

, thats impossible you only can copy a save of ps1 games to the ps2 memory card as some one said but you can not play the game save
