nince eaze e sig lol but I would have to say N64 brings back alot of memories with super mario 64 zelda oot and a bunch of other gamesThe most fun i had was with my N64 and Goldeneye, F Zero and Mario Kart multiplayer, the hours we wasted on that machine just cannot be counted!!!!:D:D:D

PS1>N64>DC>others.
the n64 was only better than the ps1 if you could stand the controller and liked all the kiddish games, and didnt care for the, for lack of a better word, more mature games.
Take it to system wars.Buffalo_Soulja
Take a discussion of "legacy" platforms to the system wars forum?
Who would participate in that?
I think the top would probably be PS1, just because it simply had so much on it, but I think the N64 could also be an acceptable #1 because it led the way in a good few genres and was pure genius as a multiplayer machine, so My list would go
1# (arguably) PS1
2# N64
- big space in quality -
3# Saturn
4# 3DO
5# Neo Geo CD
6# CD32
- big space in quality -
7# Jaguar
8# CDI
Take Jaguar and N64 out of there and place them in their own list. The 64-bit list.
3DO vs Genesis+32X vs Sega CD+32X vs PlayStation vs Saturn
these were all the systems in marketed in the US claiming 32-bit power back then. Sega foolishly had their plate full during that era, they should have either never made the 32X or never launched the Saturn, running both kept their fanbase split across two different platforms that were incompatible with each other. So when they canceled the 32X they burned up half of their fanbase who then had to buy a new system to stay current, most bought a PlayStation in revenge.
N64, definetly. It has my favorite mario, zelda, starfox, and donkey kong gameconkertheking1
True all the way. My fav zelda is on it, my second fav donkey kong is on it, fav mario game is on it, star fox, kirby, banjo, conkers it had every thing. ps: its the only one from that gen that i owned.
PSone that was a real console
SLIisaownsystem
so are you saying the others aren't because i can make a case for n64 easily. infact i don't even have too but i will
Dreamcast was not part of that generation. And Saturn is my favorite console ever.savebattery
Really, it was. It might've been the successor to Saturn, but it was released early, and by the time the PS2 and especially Xbox and GC it was dead. It basically lasted from 99-01, which is definitely part of the N64/PS era.
Anyway, to me it's
1-N64
Big gap
2-Saturn/DC
3-PS1

the Dreamcast is as much a part of the 6th gen (ie PS2/GC/Xbpx) as the 3DO is part of the 5th gen. some people even go onto group consoles like the Jaguar/3DO/Amiga CD32 and even the 32X and such into their own inbetween generationJaguar :P
For me it's the N64 because it was the last "fun" console (my opinion).
But Dreamcast is more of a 6th gen (PS2, GC, Xbox) console.
something wrong with the Jaguar?Jaguar :P

If we relativize, nothing :)
It was a self-proclaimed world's first "64-bit" console with nice graphics (certainly better than SNES and Mega Drive), cool-looking design and "rad" games :P

As for the topic my list would go like..
The Jaguarwas a decent console, it just lacked the 3rd part support, and themarketing. The 3DO was a failure from the start simply because it took the same problem the Sega CD had, and built off of it. The PS1 is #1 simply because it had gamesno other systemjust couldn't top. PS1 had Tekken, MGS, Final Fantasy, Spyro, Crash,Battle Arena Toshinden, and a ton of other games. Saturn I also believe was a better system than the N64, problem was.. graphics were a huge influence back then, and the Saturn didn't capitalize on that.It alsodidn't help that a lot of it's great games were only released in Japan. But I believe Shenmue actually showed how good the Saturn could look if it was utilized in the proper way, even though the game was never released for it.

ironically some of the later Saturn games were starting to outdo the PS1 games of the time in alot of ways, just before Sega killed the Saturn off
Really tough call between the PSone and Sega Saturn, but I'll take the PSone in a slight edge.
I absolutley HATED the damned N64, its easily my least favorite console of all time.
the N64 paddle is by leaps and bounds the worst gaming device ever created, the cartridge format was limitting and outdated, and man, I just couldn't find any games to play when I had the N64. Seriously, after Zelda:Ocarina, Zelda:Majora and Paper Mario, I can't think of another game from that system I actually enjoyed playing all that much. (maybe Ogre Battle and Resident Evil 2, but even then, I had the superior versions/entries on the PSone)
I absolutley HATED the damned N64

Why so emotional?
You sound like the N64 killed your pet or something :P

LOL, naw, it didn't kill my pet, but it certainly ended my love affair with Ninty.
When I was a kid, I was all about the NES and SNES, but the N64 was just such a huge letdown for me pesonally.
PS1-Best Console Ever! The most Legendary Console ever made, the little Grey Box that changed gaming forever!
a bit overexcited arent you ? :P besides , alot of the things the PS1 did were being done by other consoles or arcades, both before and during the PS1 lifespan , its just the PS1 made them more popular.PS1-Best Console Ever! The most Legendary Console ever made, the little Grey Box that changed gaming forever!

The Playstation may not be the first console with 3D Gaming but it made it popular, its responsible for creating this standard....uhmm, it made for the first time CG animation, in FFVII :D It brought the Dual-Shock controller. The first console to sell 100 million units...i don't know man...let me give you another link, another Top (just kidding:)
