I believe it was, but I've only been aware of this for little over a year or two which is when the game reoccured to me after my childhood.

the actual name of the board game is Warhammer 40,000, it's a futuristic board strategy wargame

and it's had many, many, many, many, many, many, many ,many, many, many, many, many, many videogames based on it

and trust me, that was just the tip of the iceberg lol

Space Hulk is called Space Hulk. Space Hulk is a part of Warhammer 40,000 but of course this in particular goes by the naem of Space Hulk
