I know everyone has a hard-on for Cloud, but between him, Squall and Zidane who would be the last one standing in a fight, this is a three way fight so it is considered a brawl. Here are the stats we are working with... Zidane lvl 60 with the Ultima Weapon Squall lvl 60 with Lion Heart Cloud lvl 60 with also the Ultima Weapon (Weapon only fight please) I know that this sounds dumb, but this will be the deciding factor on which game I will play first. example: Zidane would win because he is monkey like and a thief, allowing him to steal their weapons and use it against his enemies to cut their manhood.
As the batle is about to beggin Cloud strikes a pose in order to look good at the photos, all the whille remembering how useless and pitifull a creature he is.
Disgusted with Cloud's unlillingness to fight, Squall shrugs and utters his immemorial words: "whatever...", and walks away from the bout.
Zidane, a bit at a loss at what to do, since one of the contenders is leaving and the other is posing for the photographers decides to go away and hit on some girls.

Nope, just thought that in a rather acidic humorous way I could give you a glimpse on each character personality (At least on the start of the game) so that you could choose on "what character seems interesting" and not "which is more powerful"...
All Games are good. I myself finished VII and VIII a looooong time ago (Like... more than 10 years ago).

I like 8 the best but a lot of people dont like the draw system. Might as well just go from 7-9 theyre all good games.
If you wanna talk ingame stats then definitely Squall is the victor. I doubt omnislash could out damage renzokuken + lionheart spam. Then again Tidus could beat them all in battle. Break damage limit lol.
7 is my favorite game, 9 had a really weak ending in my opinion, 8 was very good but the whole "time compression" thing was a bit weak. id go for either 7 or 8. as for a battle between them, cloud by far- jenova cells make his abilities better than a normal human and omnislash rules.
They are AMAZING GAMES but I would say IX will always hold a special place in my heart it was my first Final Fantasy. And VII is just amazing cuz it's the first 3d ff game and is just cool and VIII is cool but I would play it last but still and AMAZING game just pick one :)
if you point is to decide the order you wanna play them play them by release date 7 - 8 - 9 honestly i bought FF9 and never ever played it, just because i had a PS2 already and did felt like going back because all the time i had was to play on my brand new PS2, i could spend an hour just playing SSX demo, completely pointless i know, but it was what i felt like doing and games should be about fun :P if you play the FF's in another order you'll find the mechanics even more outdated, like if i recall right for example to run in FF7 u have to press X and on FF8 you only press X to walk, you'll find tons of this little things, they sound like nothing, but when you are going to play a 50 hours game, believe me, you'll feel that little tiny stone in your shoe.

I just finished ff7 the other day, and even though the x and o are reversed i just changed it in configurations, easy fix for a simple problem
Play 7 first. The graphics are horrible; if you play the other two it'll be hard to go back.

agreed... play 7 then8 then 9... each is great for different reasons... as for the epic question of which is better 7 or 8, that is really dependent on the gamer... which system one prefers between the materia system with MP or the junction system with draw... Personally, I really like 7, but 8 is just a hair better IMO...
