PS2 Backwards Compatability

Can you guys name some really good PS1 games becuz isnt the PS2 able to play PS1 games? And im getting Persona 1 and 2 no matter wat!

Do you know if FF Anthology would work smoothly on a PS3? I was looking to pick it up, but since it doesn't properly on a PS2 I'm wondering if that's same case on the PS3. Thanks!

Oh you got to be joking!thats the only one i want to play!I checked that wiki thing and couldn't find Tomba! on it though, can anyone here confirm that Tomba! doesn't work with a PS2?

I don't know about the PS3, but Anthology runs just fine on the PS2.
