PS2 online was very fun. I had as much fun online on PS2 that I'm having on 360. I'm not sure which games to recommend now because I don't know which communities are still active, probably go for the games that sold the most copies.

With the Essentials collection so new and Metal Gear Solid having such a big fanbase, I can't imagine the servers being down already.

FYI, the copy of MGS3 Subsistence that came with the Essentials collection did not come with the second disc from the original Subsistence release, and that second disc is where the online component was on (along with some other extras like the secret theater, the original MSX Metal Gear games, etc). So even if it was set back up, you'd still wouldn't be able to play it.

I highly doubt they would bring back those servers considering their efforts are more focused on the new Metal Gear Online that came with MGS4.

Socom games are still up and running. Socom 1 being the least played. Socom 2 is the best out of them.

I have Socom 3 and there's usually like 10,000 or more people on there per day. Last week I went on Star Wars Battlefront and there were a good amount of people but today this week I haven't found anybody.

I just bought the game myself. I never once played PS2 online. Now I leave my PS3 online. Kinda weird. I had my PS3 for a good four months before I tried online play. I didn't realize what i was missing.
