Is it still acheivable to play PS2 Online ? I heard Syphon Filter the Omega Strain got it's servers shut down after three months, I also heard that short lived online sevice is typical for PS2 Online.

Some people still go online especially sport titles that are new. But if you had a choice of a ps3 or 360 i would have to say no it's not worth it at all.

Yes it is free except for one Final Fantasy game where you have to pay, but thats a completely separate thing all together. If you want to go online there are a few problems you will encounter as a lot of games have dead servers and a lot of servers are shutting down, espessially as the prominence of the PS2 fades away. There are some solid online game communities, but I cannot see them lasting for much longer.
i say it is definitly worth it, seeing that its free. if you have a ps2, its easy to set up. also even now at the begining of 2010, i just got socom combined assault, and when i went online, i was amazed to see that there were over 2000 people online for that game. yes, two thousand. I didnt accidentally add a zero. so anyway, i still think its worth it if you have the stuff. I dont know that i would buy a ps2 just for the online, but if you have one, go for it
