hey, just bought a new slim ps2, and had a quick question.

i was playing dragon quest VIII and while the game is running the console kind of makes a clicking noise as i play. now this could be just the basic noise that the console makes while it's running, but i'm just making sure it's normal, i haven't played PS2 in a while. the clicking-like noise stops whenever a cut-scene is going, but whenever it goes back to gameplay it makes the noise all the time.

i think it's normal, but again just making sure. it's nothing too loud or distracting, it just kind of sounds like the disc is spinning but it's sort of repeatedly clicking, like a buzzing sound almost.

let me know! can't wait to dig into all these great RPGs..

My ps2 silm makes noises when it overheats, so when its a hot day or ive been playing for hours it will make clicking noises.

so that might be it.

mmm, well it was pretty much doing it from the start, so it's probably not overheated, but oh well. it doesn't seem to be too big of a deal, it's barely noticeable and it isn't having any problems reading discs. it's not like click every few seconds, it's more of a buzz, so to speak. so yeah.
