I was looking into getting a silver ps2 slim soon, I currently do not own any console and i am not going to go buy a ps3 because the prices are high right now. I have a few questions if anyone can help:

Do a good number of people play ps2 games online? if so, what are the most active games?

Would you recommend dualshock 2 controllers or wireless? If you know any good ones, feel free to list.

The best place i found to get one right now is walmart for 129.99 for the silver, is that the best deal?

and finally, Is there a new model pf the ps2 slim coming out?

Thanks!

I too would also like to know the answers to these questions. Bestbuy has the Limited Edition White Sing Pop combo on sale for 129.99 that's the same price as the black and silver ps2's and you get a game and mics lol

To answer a few of your questions that's pretty much the standard price but you might want to double check pricegrabber.com. I haven't played a PS2 game for probably 4+ months but there was plenty of people still playing Star Wars Battlefront when I was playing at that time. As for a controller I would definately go wireless. The best one in my opinion is the Logitech Cordless Action controller which retails for 29.99 at the moment. Good luck you should have a lot of fun, its still a great system.

Is it a hassle to get the ps2 connected to the web? I was reading that you can link your ps2 to your Laptop and have the laptop provide the wifi connection

jtpot check out bestbuy.com for the ps2 limited edition special. I guess no one wants to pay 149 for it so they put them on sale for 129. I went to the store and got one

there are still quite a few people playing PS2 online. mostly Socom games and Call of Duty games.
here is a complete list of PS2 games that are still currently online: http://playstation2.onlineconsoles.com/phpBB2/content_gameslist_na.php

ive never used a wireless one before, but the Dual Shock wired ones are pretty excellent. the silver one that comes with the system is magnificint. the rumble is really something.

The best place i found to get one right now is walmart for 129.99 for the silver, is that the best deal?
i heard they were releasing a new one for 99.99, not sure when though. either way, both prices are amazing.

and finally, Is there a new model pf the ps2 slim coming out?
same answer as above

also to get online, just hook an ethernet cable from your PS2 to your modem. easy as pie
