Well that thread title wound up being really unclear, but definitely not for want of trying. Anyway, does anyone know if there's like a list or something of games who support online multiplayer platform crossover? Like, games that I could play on a PS3 and my friend could play on a 360 type of thing. Or does that just straight-up never happen? I don't think I've ever seen any sort of discussion on it which is kind of weird because I'd think quite a few people would wonder about that sort of thing.

Thanks!

This question get's asked all of the time, and no it will probably never happen, as far as im aware PC/360 crossover multiplayer is the only current platform crossover for multiplayer and even that doesn't work out to well, I think anyone playing on PC must require Xbox Live Gold in order to play against Xbox users.

Final Fantasy XI. It's a MMORPG. Some models of the PS3 can play it even though it is a PS2 game. Requires $12.95 per month of course.

It doesn't happen because MS has a tight grip on XBL. They don't allow in anything they can't have total control of. I remember Mark Reign saying they held off on the xbox version of Unreal Tournament 3 because MS wouldn't let them do everything they wanted.
