I have both these systems set up to my TV. one on top of the TV stand and the other system on the botton, I need to make room for other things and I was thinking of putting them side by side. Will this cause any problems between the systems?

I have put my 360 right up against my TV before and the screen was getting messed up. Almost like placing a magnet on a TV. I wasnt sure if by placing the two systems side by side ontop of my TV set would damage either system. Does anyone know if it would be safe if I did. I want to ask ahead of time just incase something happens.

You should probably contact Sony or Microsoft, or your TV manufacturer about this. It depends on what TV you have, like if it's LCD, Plasma or CRT, etc. The only way you could tell from home is to actually try it, but, you don't seem like the kind of person to throw caution to the wind so carelessly, so, unless someone else on these forums can help you out, contact some kind of customer services.

If you want my opinion on this, I don't see why paring up your consoles would affect your TV, unless that past experience you've had whereby your X Box 360 messed up your TV happened to your current TV, then, obviously, don't put the consoles close to your TV. Hope I helped!

I just want to make sure it dosn't mess either system up by having them side by side. They are far enough away from my TV on top of the stand to not cause any more damage to it.

because both consoles produce heat when operation, it's advised if possible to not place them near each other. However, it's unlikely you'll be using both at the same time, so it should be ok.

Make sure there's enough room for ventilation too
