Ps4: Buy now or wait?

I was wondering whether I should buy a ps4 now or just wait til they most probably announce and release the PS4k this fall. Cause i'm not really down for buying a ps4...then ending up trading it in for a lesser value and then spend alittle extra for the upgrade. I normally never trade things in because after I buy something, that purchase is worth more to me if I just kept it instead of getting dimes and nickles for a trade (yes, may be exaggerated with a trade in for a console, but you get it).

The reason i'm wondering is...I wanna play with a buddy of mine, but I don't know if I want to waste extra $ a few months down the line. Plus, I want the best experience with Gran Turismo Sport...but I mean.......don't we all? lol halp meh guys!

i bought my ps4 barely 18 months ago. if i'd have known that a newer, more powerful version would be being released so soon after i wouldn't have bothered and just upgraded my gaming pc instead. it's not like there's an abundance of must have exclusives for it anyway

I'd hold off 'till E3 to see what the PS4 Neo is really going to be all about. Price point, specs, release date, is there an upgrade program, etc etc. Right now it's just a bunch of rumors - albeit very legitimate sounding ones

Don't hesitate. Life is too short. Think of all the fun you'll have between now and when the new system comes out.

You may as well wait now, no sense in picking one up until you can get a more powerful version.

It hasn't been announced yet, it's still a rumor, a rumor we all know that will turn to be a tangible product but still.

after the announcement It'll take a few more monthes till it launches, it's not going out tomorrow and the VR project looks in the spotlight for the soon time. so take it under your considerations, if you ask me i would wait.

Unless you're desperate to play certain games on it, I'd personally wait till after E3.

This is pretty much how I feel. There's nothing I own on PS4 that I couldn't have waited for or bought on PC instead (especially if I had sunk the $400 i paid into my PC) - just how lackluster this gen has been. But, like a fool, I bought it at launch, assuming consoles are consoles and they wouldn't do upgrades down the road, because that's how it's always been.

Wait. I wish I did.

I just had this discussion with a friend who actually was thinking of getting either Xbox or PS4.

I will tell you what I told him. You have waited this long. E3 is in June so a little more time won't kill you. If you are that hard up, go to rent a center and lease one for a month or 2.

You said it yourself, it would piss you off to pay full price and month or so later a new better console is announced and the one you just bought had a $50 or more price cut. Either way you only have more to gain by waiting.

Wait for Neo

the ps4 is complete garbage I were you id say with the ps1 and ps2, even better you could just upgrade your pc. I expect the neo to be around the same.

@fnevaeva: First, if you haven't got a PC yet, just get that instead. Second, if this is a side system, get one now. The "Neo" will most certainly not be able to pull off impressive performance, much less 4k.

With the knowledge that the Neo PS4 is coming, anyone would have to be a fool to go purchase an original model right now.

Wait for either an insane deal, or the next big thing.

There will be a price drop for the original PS4 when Neo comes out, so that means you would save way more money.

But if you want Neo, it will cost you.

I'd wait. Has it been officially confirmed by Sony yet? If it hasn't it's possible they can cancel their plans for an upgraded ps4, at least for this year.

I'm definitely not going to get one unless I get a significant discount for trading on my old ps4
