Oi mates, I just wanted to ask you what are the fps games that you felt more immersed in the story, please don't put CoD games, I can't stand those franchise no more.

@RSM-HQ: I loved all 4 campaigns (plus Reach and ODST). Some people like to give 4 a hard time but I really enjoyed it.

Probably because it's not Bungie, I would imagine it's a nostalgic loyalty thing and less to do with the quality of the product. I've seen it in a few sequel games by different studios. That otherwise made a good game.

Yeah that's definitely what it was... I thought 343 did a great job with their first game. I really dug the story.
Halo 5 on the other hand :(

i absolutely think it was because it wasn't bungie, but not due to nostalgia (fwiw i didn't think much of odst either), due to the sp having a different feel and flow to previous games. it wasn't like there was any huge flaws, it was more of a death by a thousand cuts kind of thing.
the development back story of halo 4 is quite interesting. 343 started off as a tiny dev studio. they began to aggressively grow and recruit developers for a "mystery project" - devs were interviewing to work on a game but weren't told what it was - and one of the traits 343 used to base a dev's suitability for the project was if they openly admitted to not liking halo during interviews. 343's logic was that by hiring devs that were critical of the game they would be better positioned and more inclined to "fix it."
they hired a huge team of veteran developers, who then spent the next several months trying to hit on a sweet spot for how the new halo should feel. unsurprisingly, they couldn't agree upon what this was, found themselves well behind schedule and had to rush the game out, admitting it was not the game they wanted to release.
i played halo 4 and frustratingly just couldn't sync with it in a way that i did with the previous games. then i stumbled across an article about the development of the game (summarised above) and suddenly it made a lot more sense why i hadn't been able to click with it. 343 are one of the reasons why i, initially, decided to go playstation this gen over xbox (gears no longer made by epic being another similar one)
